Early holiday shopping... FOR PROFITS! :)

So I spent way way way too much NP last night doing something I haven't done in quite a while which is doing advanced holiday shopping.

Inevitebly, it will happen that as you get closer to a holiday all items themed to it (Halloween, Christmas, Valentines, etc) get more and more expensive as people buy them up for gifts, guild prizes, etc. So what I used to do back then and just did again last night is buy several of these items well ahead of time.

Last night I focused on Valentines day so I bought a few of several different Valentines items last night. I'm sure that closer to February 14th that many of these items will go up in value. So when that time comes I'll take all the things out of my deposit box and sell them for a usually big profit! Ideally you'll want to shop 6 months in advance for the holiday in question but earlier is always better than later!

Anyway, when I do this, I keep record of what I bought and how much I paid for it so that when I do sell them I can see just how much profit I made on each item so that I can buy more of that the following year! It's a very slow way to earn NP but I think it's worth it!

I put the name of the item, the date I bought it, and then how much I paid for it.

Valentines Cookies (9-25-06) = 3,200 NP
Valentines Bouquet (9-25-06) = 3,300 NP
Gold Valentines Ring (9-25-06) = 48,000 NP
Valentines Muffin (9-25-06) = 6,000 NP
Valentines Earrings (9-25-06) = 14,000 NP
Valentines Quiggle Plushie (9-25-06) = 49,999 NP
Valentines Cybunny Plushie (9-25-06) = 34,850 NP
Love Petal Plant (9-25-06) = 11,399 NP
Bottle of Love (9-25-06) = 2,500 NP
Three Red Roses (9-25-06) = 4,300 NP
Rose Shake (9-25-06) = 335 NP
Chocolate Heart (9-25-06) = 14,995 NP
Heart Shaped Charm (9-25-06) = 1,700 NP

Yikes, dl! Lol. You'd be a great Neopian Financial Assistant, if they were hiring. No wonder you're pretty well off.. My money just sort of sits in the bank, probably getting moldy. I used to play a certain list of games every day and do my dailies, but that doesn't happen anymore. I also did stocks, but at some point I didn't have enough time to check on them periodically.

Well good luck on making profits from your Valentine's Day items! Tell us how much you make. I might go for that strategy myself, if you wouldn't mind.

Well that's why I posted it! You better start soon on halloween stuff if you're going to do it for Halloween because prices are already on their way up!

Yea it's better than having your NP just sit in the bank! It's my same philosophy for the stocks. You can have them sitting in the bank or you can have them sitting in a stock for five months but with the stocks you are almost guaranteed to at least double your investment!

I just finished my shopping for valentines day. I bought three of everything I've lsited below at prices close to what dl paid, but a little higher for the most part.

I might buy some more Valentines stuff, I guess we will see.

BTW, some of the prices I listed are the average price I paid. I added up how much I paid for them and then divided by the number of items to get the average per cost of the item. Sometimes I found 5000 NP items in someone's shop for 1000 so that lowered my average cost on some of the items.

Like right now, it seems the average price for the Pop up Valentine is 4500 NP but I found 2 for 3500 NP so that lowers my overall average price for the Pop up Valentine.

I bought 3 valentine earrings, 3 valentine muffins and 3 chocolate hearts. (I do the same thing that you do dl to get my average price). I think I'm going to stop buying stuff for a while (or this might be all the Valentine stuff I buy) I'm running low on nps.

This sounds like a fun idea! I love to shop, and this way it doesn't really put a dent in our real bank account! I already have some Halloween items, but I think if I want to buy more I better get on it as it's fast approaching.

Man I wish I would have bought more Halloween Decorative Banner!!! I paid 12,000 NP for three of them! I was just looking at my list and saw:

I checked the price of it just now and it's going for 25,000 NP!!

I hope everything else goes up that much, lol!!

Wow dl! That's a great way to make np! I was just thinking the other day that I ought to get started on Valentines stuff, or it would be to expensive for me to buy later! I hope we can all make a big profit doing this!!!!

This was in the Neopian Times... "Could you perhaps make a high score table for the Collectable Card collectors? They've been around for so long, but never been given any credit. It would be lovely."

It would probably be wise to buy up a variety of different collectable cards because once they do make an avie, you know a lot of people are going to buy up and try to get it!
