Hmmm. I'm not sure I liked the sudden, dramatic change. I guess time will tell how it works out.

I'm liking it. Its much better thought out... the site has grown a lot since that layout first came out so its about time that the site got a nice changeover. I'm not liking the look of the special skin themes anymore but you can now change the site from something other than yellow.

Also, the lookups aren't working anymore which really sucks. I'll have to recode them.

i totally love the new look!!!! i think for a long time it was very child like and lately the furniture and now the site is one that will make the teens and adults feel more like they are playing a game that is adult friendly..i mean i have to admit when i first started neopets i felt guilty thinking i was taking opportunities away from the kids..before i knew there were a lot of other adults playing neopets... i think it will help others feel this way too. i mean if you really just talk about being on neopets most everyone i know thinks of it as a childs game. now if someone were to venture in the site i think they would be more open to giving it a shot and not feeling they are living in shame playing a kids game...i mean even when i first heard about neopets i thought it was a young young kids game...but i learned there is much more to it than what i had thought.

i have found a glitch...my neopet hasn't changed even though my description has. the lab ray zapped my ugly spotted buzz into a red Lutari..but the buzz is still showing up as my active pet

When I typed the address in for the first time today, I simply typed neopets.com. So when this wacky, new layout popped up, I was in shock...and searched for something to blame it on...maybe the way I typed the URL - checked it, and just adding www. in front of it seemed silly to try and see if it would change anything...Then I thought, this must be a verrry late April Fool's joke, right? And I was convinced of that until I saw the Neoboards && New Features pages. I guess they are seriously in beta version, and Customise is official...

This saddens me for a few reasons, actually. The page loads noticeably slower for me, now...Not by much, but enough to aggravate me...Everything is so large; therefore you can't see all the things you used to be able to all at once. I still can't find all the critical pages, like my Items...btw, if someone could point me toward it, I'd be grateful..And the pages that I DO come across are covered with nothing but trivial stuff like Coming Soons and How to Draw. When do I ever use those? And lastly, my sidebar themes look different now. And I liked the old ones.

I liked the old, simplistic Neopets. So many of my favorite websites are converting to this full-page/flash/chocked-full-of-graphics-that-don't-load-fast style. It's a nuisance.

I definitely think this new Neopets layout will take me a WHILE to get used to, let alone appreciate. The only thing I like about it right now is the Neofriends box where you can see who's online.

I've definitely been working with this new layout thing today, on both of my neopets accounts (Yes, I have two, but not for reasons you may think. They remain completely separate from one another!). Anyway, when I logged on to my main account, alienfreak2006, I noticed that along with a lot of these other changes, my neopets look was also changed. I have a shoryu, pteri, lupe, and gelert, and I liked the old way they looked. Now, I look at them and they just don't look very good anymore. I'm kind of disappointed at them for this. I don't know, maybe I'm being selfish or childish or whatever, but I agree with fullbloom, it's going to take me awhile to get used to this new layout and my "new" neopets. I mean, a long time.

And while we're on the subject, I have a very old computer and it takes a little while longer for the site to load, and, as fullbloom said, everything just seems too big now. I have to use my horizontal scrollbar way too much now. But I'm just ranting here.

ugh. i am not happy at all by this. i made this super awesome kick butt layout (haha well in my opinion) ready for when i wasn't underage anymore (which would be today) so i could use it. and now i have to figure out how to recode it.

well i love the look but i will say its very hard to get use to all the new ways..like looking up a persons acct..a tremendous feat

^ I know! Isn't that sad? Just trying to get to someone's look-up is a challenge.

I also don't like how the customised Neopets are vastly smaller in size than they were originally. My Neopets are nearly the size of grapes now!

The thing about the old layout was that everything fit horizontally so all you had to use was the vertical scrollbar, which you can easily do with your mouse anyway. But you can't do that with the horizontal scrollbar, which is needed to see a lot of things on the new site.

Harrumph.

Maybe I'll start liking it soon, but I certainly don't appreciate the unannounced, all-at-once change.

fullbloom, it sounds like you have your monitor set to 800x600 resolution. Can you set it to 1024x768? That's about the industry standard now.

I think I might know fullbloom's problem, as I have the same one. My monitor is one that HAS to be at 800x600 resolution, or I'll have to go get a magnifying glass or microscope or something to read anything. I feel your pain, fullbloom, I feel it.

Well on this computer that I am on right now (Windows 98) the monitor is indeed set to 800x600, and I do have a Windows XP in the other room that's probably at standard resolution, considering its fairly new but I haven't checked in on Neopets on that computer yet. Hmm...maybe I will like the layout better from that resolution. Thanks, dl.

Kristin, you and I are seeing the same, distorted website right now.

Our computers are also the same in that, dl I took your suggestion and changed the resolution and the horizontal scrollbar is gone (thank goodness), but now the problem is that most text is minute. I have to have it at 800x600 on my Windows 98 I guess. Shucks.

Oh my you must have a really old monitor then. 800x600 is a really really outdated resolution. Is 1024 too small to read or is it just smaller than you're used to? It's really different to change to a different resolution and getting used to it. I went from 800x600 then 1024x768 then 1280x720. Now I'm at 1280x1024.

i use to have that problem with my old computer too getting the words where you could see them or then things would get too big if i changed them to the next higher resolution..its a pain

To get to Your Items: You can go to the shops and then click the Your Items icon on the very left-hand side or click on Your NP on the top of the screen.

I do not enjoy having the search bar at the bottom of the page or where you have to click on the general category and then click down to get what you want. Also, for the customize thing, my neopets look a lot different and they're like turned sideways and not looking at me. My Acara looks a lot more angular and my Gelert is more cartooned. I bet the prices of clothes are going to go way up so I've been trying to get some today and my special items (like Advent Calendar Frilly Pink Skirt) didn't seem to work.
It seems more sprawled, but much more energetic if that makes sense.

Actually, since before the layout change, you could click on your NP on hand at the top of the page and that takes you right to your inventory...
