3 New Challengers

Well, it's time for our next round of plot challengers.

Black Elm - 15 hp

Blathering Beech - 30 hp

Savage Sycamore - 50 hp

I fought the Black Elm so far but it took forever because of the lag. I'm getting the stat info on them and working on the Blathering Beech so I can give attack and defense details for everyone (maybe, if the server quits messing up on me)

these guys are mostly earth based.... I didn't get to see my fight with the Black Elm, because the pages wouldn't load so I just kept hitting F5 and next thing I knew I'd won... but I can see what I'm doing against the Blathering Beech...

so far, they are mostly earth based with mostly earth based attacks... so a soul stone is something good to have that's relatively cheap

Said to be formed from the tears of a heart broken Earth faerie this amulet grants you protection from earth magic.

Wow, my lupe (my strongest pet out of the three I have) can't even beat the Black Elm. Sigh. i really really don't like plots that involve the battledome.

I'm attacking mostly with my Antennae Ring (fire based) and fierce attack (he defends against my air based grundo blast) and defend with my soul stone

Is there anything else you recommend Lindsey? The Antennae Ring you mentioned is 35,000nps.

well, it's also a grundo item as well, which is one reason i've gotten it

so far i've noticed that neither of the first 2 really have a defense against fire based attacks, so i'm looking for cheap fire items

also a good thing to do is have one earth based defense like the soul stone and use it every single round that you can and also defend every round so they do little damage if any to you, but you do some to them every round and gradually wear them down.... spinx may have high hp but the rest of his stats including his level are low, so i have to take things rather slow

i have noticed that the black elm hits you in order with his items.... like he always hits you with solid wood club first and maybe sharpeend wood splinters too, but they're always in order

i'll get back when i hunt for those fire attacks

ok, orb of the fire faerie is about 16k (not the greater orb of the fire faerie, either)

fire sword is about 22k
cheap fire ring does about 4 fire icons and protects against water
fire ball is about 3500 but i think it's only one use
fire jug is relatively cheap at about 800 np
fire muffin is a little over 2300
fire motes are about 150 each
a lot of those though are one use items

i'm still looking though

i'm sending you some fire snow to see how it works

Thanks Lindsey, I appreciate it. By the way is the battledome not really loading for anyone else? It keeps messing up on me, saying things like "You don't own that pet" and saying this page can not be displayed and generally going very very slow. Is that happening to anyone else?

yeah... it's lagging pretty bad and half the time the pages won't load for me at all, it's just blank so i have to refresh the page until it does load and then lots of times it will completely kick me out of the fight, but i don't lose stats for that

for defense, you may consider a leaf shield... it ranges from 9k - 15k on the wiz and blocks 5 earth, 5 water and 3 physical so combined with a scarab ring which blocks 3 fire and 3 physical and attacks with 2 water 2 darkness and 2 physical you've got a pretty good chance of blocking almost everything and doing a little bit of damage each time if you defend each round as well

I never even took the Battledome this seriously. Thanks for the tips Lindsey, but I think I'm just gonna stick to randomly attacking with my items because I don't feel like spending so much money on things I'm only going to use once.

hey I don't blame you, I struggled against the savage sycamore and got my butt handed back to me on a platter, but I think I got the trick to it, just with the lag I kept getting kicked out, so it's a really good thing that I have multiple use items cuz i'd be one ticked off person if I had a bunch of one use items that I used just to get kicked out of the fight

on another note, I seriously doubt I'll be fighting the next wave of opponents, these are a pain in the rear as it is... I'm not about to have to buy a whole bunch of new stuff just to defeat the next ones

Thanks so much for all the tips Lindsey I really appreciate it. Unfortunately I was so busy over the weekend that I didn't even get on neopets til today and saw that the trees were gone. I do not think I will even attempt to fight the next wave, I mean I lost to a creature with 15 points of health I do not think I could beat a creature with 55 points of health with out dying a whole lot and spending a ton of nps. I really do appreciate your tips though Lindsey, once again thank you.

np kris, and I'm sure I won't be fighting this next wave either... I could probably beat the first one, but I was in the middle of one earlier and the computer just shut down, so I'm pretty sure I've got either a loss or a withdrawal now, which bites really bad, so I don't think I'm going to even attempt another one until I get my new puter and then I bet there'll be a whole new lot of challengers
