i bet that would look cute...i'd like to do the gypsy package for my Xweetok...right now she is wearing the fancy mask....but i tried on the gypsy stuff and was too cute! then my shoyru...i want the not sure what its called but the oriental bridge..with cherry blossom leaves falling....i hate my elephante...but he will not change species!!!!! i know thats horrible lol but i did love it when it was a yurble.....my elephante is just hideous....lol i know mean mean!

ok i looked into it more..i don't think its the background it says the pet is outdated - well here is what it says but the rainbow pool still has this same picture of faerie shoyru as the picture i have of my shoyru! NOTE: Your Neopet is using old-style artwork and cannot wear items. Click here for more information. then if you click on it..it says if i change it and i don't like the way my pet looks its permanent and i can't change him back! what in the blue perfect heck is this about? anyone?
as a matter of fact this is exactly what it says when you click to convert him:
Convert Neopet
Some Neopets that had a given species/color combination before Customised Pets were introduced are allowed to keep their old artwork, if you so choose. HOWEVER, these Neopets will not be fully customisable unless you convert them to the new artwork. If you choose to make your Neopet fully customisable, you will be able to dress your Neopet with clothes and items!
If you want to keep a Neopet that has old-style artwork, then you do not have to do anything! Simply go on about your business. But if, at some point, you decide to convert your Neopet to the new artwork, you can do so here.
WARNING!!! Converting your Neopet to the new style is an IRREVERSIBLE change! Once it is done, it cannot be undone no matter how badly you may wish it! So be very, very sure that you are okay with this before you do it!
What?? That Neopet doesn't exist! What are you trying to pull?

No no no. LOL. If you convert your old-artwork style pet to the new customizable version, you can't go back to old-artwork style. The change to customizable is irreversible. Once it's converted, it cant' go back.

Also, the Lab Ray will zap pets into customizable pets. I zapped my old-artwork style Desert Poogle at the lab and it turned into a Starry customizable Poogle.

then I guess it's a good thing I don't zap daveyboy anymore - she's my only pet that I got to choose if I wanted to customize her or not and I won't..... however, I did get some robot stuff because my grarrl was zapped from robot to invisible and she was still showing up until I went to the customize page to remove the background and there was robot stuff on her... I just can't sell it now

Once it's converted, it cant' go back. but what does that mean?  i mean will it still be a faerie shoyru? or will it revert to a regular plain colored shoyru? do i need to do this or do i need to leave things the way they are to keep my faerie color? neopets is giving me a strain in my neck! and you KNOW it doesn't take much to confuse me when it comes to technology! and stuff on this level....ask me anything on behaviorisms....relationships....but lol never ask me questions that concern computer issues or games....not my forte! but can you explain exactly what is going on with this? |

When a pet is changed over to the new artwork, it doesn't change color. For example, my Ixi used to look all sweet and girly (he's faerie) and he was kinda sitting like a puppy does with his behind on the ground and his feet in front of him. I didn't convert him to the new artwork for a long time, because the new artwork doesn't look as "sweet", and he's standing up and his head is a bit more prominent. But...I wanted to put that pretty collar on him, and customize him a bit, and I couldn't do that with the old artwork. So...I finally took the plunge and now he is done in the new artwork. Once I did that I couldn't ever have him done in the old artwork again. But...he's still a Faerie Ixi, and his color didn't change. There is probably somewhere online, or even on Neopets, that shows the old artwork verses the new conversion artwork. I hope that makes sense. I found this page that shows all the old and new artwork for all the colors. But I couldn't customize him until I converted him. He does look more like a boy now though. |

very helpful bunny....thank you..i converted my shoyru..he just felt so left out not being in disguise or dressed up..his is very comical...but he has "new" duds! or some anyway!

Thanks bunny for listing that link, I didn't realize how different some of the neopets are now. Some of the changes I like, others i don't like at all. I really wanted to paint my shoyru halloween but I don't like the new one as much as the old one. And the old bruce was way cuter than the new one.
When you get a paintbrush do you get a choice about which one you get? or are they all customizable now?

I think it depends on whether or not your pet is converted. If it isn't, I think the pb will just paint that version. If it's converted, it paints that (new) version. But I could be wrong. I haven't painted anything since the conversion started.

i don't think i have ever used a paint brush lol too stingy and scared i will want to change it eventually so i hold off...but i want to get my pets to the point where i am happy with what pet i have, their stats...like my kougra was my first and i will always keep her....my shoyru was at one time a lupe before the lab ray....the xweetox i got from someone but was a robotic ixi before i zapped her...and she is adorable...wish i could change her name though... and sampson was a yurble...i also had another pet that was my lab ray pet but drake wanted it when it was zapped to a hissi so he has it but they have again been without a computer cause the laptop they got a couple xmas's ago they were acting poptarted with...it wasn't moving fast enough for drew so he started shaking it! then it got bounced off their bed....no i wasn't upset lol...it cost more than my computer but.....lesson learned....young kids aren't typicallly responsible enough to have a laptop! that's one thing on their xmas list this year is another computer but it won't be a LAPTOP lol....and momma isn't gonna share her puter.....if they kill mine i would DIE

Any changes made to pets colors since Customisation happened will make the pet into customizable form, just like the lab ray.

So if you have a pet you like, and it isn't converted, you better not paint it or it will auto-convert to the newer painted style? Correct. And no, fairy, stat changes at the lab will not convert your pet. |

well, the only pet I was worried about was daveyboy... and there's no chance of her getting zapped, but there's a lot of the new pics that I don't particularly care for... mostly on the grey pets though because I liked how they were all looking down in the dumps and had totally different poses and now they don't... but the ixi I think had the most drastic of updates when it came to faerie and grey and I'm just not impressed

Yea the special colors, Grey probably most than others, really did not translate well with the customization... Plushie and Royal are two others that come to mind.
