Hey guys... A bit of bad news but we've rebounded from bad news before in the past so I don't see this being any different. I just got a Neomail from theneopetsteam (TNT) that I would like to share with you all. The message was as follows: Your guild has been reported for holding contests. Holding contests in any form on Neopets are strictly against Terms and Conditions and punishable by the freezing of the account. After investigation into your guild and the discussion forums linked to off-site we have found several contest forums as well as some sort of plot with promised prizes. The only permissible plots are those that are officially created by Neopets.com such as our current Darkest Faerie plot.
A period of seven (7) days will be given for these unofficial guild contests to be terminated and if all questionable content is not removed within the given time-frame, the guild account will be permanently deleted. A full listing of Neopets Terms and Conditions may be found by following this link: neopets.com/terms.phtml This is a first and final warning. The account will be reviewed seven (7) days from the date this Neomail was sent. So the bad news is... 1. The plot prizes will NOT be distributed (after all that work figuring them out and buying them!!!  ) 2. I will have to lock all the Prize Cloud threads and forbid any form of contests/giveaways. 3. The Challenges page on the guild website will be removed. 4. There will no longer be a Member of the Month program. I hope you guys understand the severity of this, I don't want to lose the guild account or any of my other accounts that I sign on with on this computer. This really stinks.  GRRRRRRRRR Why do people do that!! I mean come on, grrrrrrrr blah blah blah blah blah blah *trying to bite tounge* whats the deal the giveaways aren't prizes! and ugh!!!! I'm sorry dl this is really horrible, I mean its not like this guild is all about prizes because we have friendships but still, it really stinks when someone decides that they don't like us being happy to go and ruin things for us |

Oh, man that really stinks!! I feel so bad that you went to all the trouble you did and it was all for nothing. I still love this guild though...we'll just have to think up better stuff than prizes  |

Oh my gosh!! It is like Neopets has be come a Communistic group, trying to tell you what to do even if you aren't on Neopets!! I will admit that is harsh, but I can not believe they are so...............I don't even know the word, maybe restrictive?

Why would there be the option to do that with our items? And the prize cloud was mainly just random giveaways, and I don't really see a problem with that!!! But apparently, tnt does.  |

What I would like to know is...WHO reported us? Probably some little twit who got ticked off at us for some reason. Anyway, I guess I don't have to worry about getting my gift giving caught up tonight, do I? Criminy. And here is a little message to Neopets when they monitor this thread: I am a subscriber to Premium, as is my husband. We aren't kids. This is a hobby for us with no ulterior motives whatsoever. I was one of the gift-givers in the guild, and I NEVER held a contest for any of the items I gave out. I played games on the site to earn my nps fairly, and spent them with no intent for gain, to obtain gift prizes for my fellow guild members just because I like them! I bought your magazines, spent money on the neopet items like the board games, collectible cards, and stuffed Neopets. But let me tell you what, if anything happens to this guild because we aren't following rules, when we have tried to be SO careful, my financial support for Neopets is going bye-bye. Sure, I'm just one person, and my husband is two, but if rules are so unfairly imposed upon a guild like ours I doubt if we will be the only ones who get fed up. There are other virtual sites out there that we can join. They'll probably never see this. It will be my luck this won't be one of the threads they read!  But I had to let off some steam, and believe me, I restrained myself. BTW, no one blames you for any of this, dl. I know you hate it as much as all of us do. |

well bunny hold on to your letter lindsey has a slew of addresses where she has run into problems with her website and her account so she can get you a direct address to someone.
this absolutely infurates me...i guess i also feel guity in my phrasing of words when trying to explain what we do here in the guild. another thing that really irrates me is as much as they say they monitor the trading post and have sent warnings for undetermined reasons of wording in the trading post..like the situation i ran into about saying i was lending that time an item... and there is never a time when i haven't read trades that there aren't an onslaught of advertisements of newbie packets...and prizes for guild members only. and they have used the word prizes! then there have been times when i would go to the advertise your guild section and post our guild..again prizes and giveaways used in every post but ours.
and i am sorry dl your having to deal with this because i was here when the rules at neopets changed and how you were determined to keep within the rules to avoid such occurances. i also know you do not bend even if you think it could be considered a violation.

Would the jobs also not count? I forgot what all the Challenges were, even though I just read the page yesterday. This stinks. I agree with everyone so far, and sometimes I only come onto this website for this guild. We are a very good guild and stay within the rules, and I see many newbie packs everywhere and contests in other guilds and just think tsk tsk, they don't know what's going to happen to them. neopets would definitely not be as fun without you guys. the giveaways were just gifts for others for being such great people. There are plenty of other guilds with their own websites, so I don't see why ours is wrong. hopefully we can all get this cleared up within the timeframe of a week.
Where else are we supposed to get plot help? lol. i love everyone here.

well i suggest everyone read the new rules dl has set up for the guild..its just so unfair and affects us all so in order to keep everyone in the guide lines please read i wouldn't know what to do if they shut us down.

That totally stinks!!!! Who would rat us out like that, even though we don't have anything violating neopets rules? Our prizes, unlike other guilds, are merely given out randomly and for participation in plots... This bites, dl. I know no one blames you. You own the guild anyway, so you might just have more right than *us* to be upset!
I went and read the challenges page. Thanks for taking the time to explain it on there...even though it's terrible news, it's better safe than sorry. I just hope the guild never gets shut down!

I am so sorry Dl! This really, really stinks!! And it isn't your fault... and after all the hard work you have put in.
I must say that I want all members to become framiliar with the new rules so in 7 days when TNT comes and "checks us out" that they will become satisfied with the guild."
I really hate to lose this guild, and after DL has worked so hard.
