Hey guys... in my continuing effort to focus on the members we have (rather than members we can get) I was checking out the guild message boards and came upon the realization that making it mandatory that there be NO POSTS on the boards might be a bit extreme and give the wrong impression, especially for new members who do not know that we have these separate boards. So I've been thinking about lifting this ban and not only allowing but also encouraging everyone chat on the guild boards over there too. This will not only help new members (who might think a guild with no posts been abandoned) but also for members who can't sign up at our boards for one reason or another to be able to participate and enjoy the guild. So I invite you all to once again (or for the first time) feel free to post and chat at the Neo guild boards! Here's the direct link: www.neopets.com/guilds/guild_board.phtml?id=479519

Might I add... it's not proven but in my past experience, I found that Random Events seem to be more frequent on guild pages, including guild boards.

Lol. I never knew that about the random events on guild pages. Very interesting. I'll have to check the guild board more often then. Just kidding. But I will.

Yeah, so I think this is a step in the right direction... I'm heading over there now.

^Well these boards will always be our primary boards so no worries if you forget from time to time. The main function of those boards is to chit-chat and make sure new members are aware that the guild is not abandoned.

Good idea, dl, for all the above mentioned reasons. I think this will make our guild seem more immediately accessible for new members, until they get registered (if they can) on these boards. It will seem more friendly.

That is a good idea. I occasionally miss using our traditional guild forum anyway, so this is a nice double-board.

Just thought of something...could you put a link at the top of the page to the guild message board so we could switch between the two boards easily? Just an idea.

That's a great idea! I get a lot of people that I can't send welcome messages too because they are either too young or have a block for just neofriends and when i go to become neofriends they are not accepting anymore!

Also I forgot to mention... what I do in Firefox, is make Toolbar Bookmarks out of this forum and the Guild MB. That way, whenever I'm looking for something to do, I just hit the link and I can check for new posts.
It's a good way to keep an eye on the boards all day without actually leaving the window open all the time.
To do that in Firefox, just go to the forum home page or to the guild mb home page and press CTRL D. Then make sure to select Create in Bookmark Toolbar and it'll be saved on the toolbar. Handy!

I think its a good idea. I think in the past some people for different reasons either couldn't get over to these boards, or didn't understand how to. This way they can still be active, and hopefully make it over here to these boards too eventually.

I just started posting back on the guild message board, and it is almost nostalgic, but without the sadness of course. Just made me remember the guild minus this nifty forum.

yeah i went back in today and it was strange and actually different..instead of a steady message board you have to reply to someones message..when i use to belong to another guild years ago you just typed in at the last message sent and if you wanted to address a topic or person you then had to acknowledge who or what

Yeah...and no nifty smileys and font/hyperlink buttons for all the outside-of-neopets linkage you want!
