Which island are you from, and which one do you think is the prettiest to visit? My husband and I may go next year, and I hear different accounts on which one is the prettiest.

Which island are you from, and which one do you think is the prettiest to visit? My husband and I may go next year, and I hear different accounts on which one is the prettiest. Well... I think that all of the islands are very pretty. I haven't been to all of them, though. Ni`ihau is the island that's kind of "forbidden" to go to unless you're directly related to the family that lives there. That island has some of the last full blooded Hawaiian people. I also haven't been to Kaho`olawe, because that place is mainly used as bombing sites and practice areas for the army and stuff. I also haven't been able to visit Lanai... What I can tell you is that I live on the island Oahu, and it's just beautiful! There are soooo many things to do if ya come and visit, and so many historical ancient Hawaiian sites and landmarks to see. Hawaii, or as we call it, The Big Island, is also pretty. The towns are more spread out, so the drives between towns are longer, but it's the only island in the chain left with an active volcano, so you can see first hand dried molten lava, and also visit historical sites. It's also known for its black sand beaches. I've only been there twice but I do like it, and the hotel I stayed in was really great.. it's called the Hilton Waikoloa Village Hotel. Maui is also a beautiful place to go. I've only been there once when I was really young, so I don't really remember the details, but I have lots of friends who live there and love it! Molokai is a small island with a small population of people. I've been there once when I was in the eighth grade... we went as a class and stayed in the Molokai Ranch. It was really fun, and of course, the beach was close by. I was born on the island of Kaua`i. This island is really beautiful, because there aren't that many stores and man made things there, just a LOT of green. Kaua`i is used a lot for movies, like I know some of Jurassic Park filmed there... but yeah, it's pretty as well!! I don't know if all this is a big help... All I can say is that if you do come down here to visit, maybe you should stay on one island like the main one, Oahu, and spend time visiting between the others... then you can experience all the islands at once!

Thanks for the info! It was all really interesting. I didn't know much at all about some of those smaller islands, so that was nice to hear about. We own a points based time share with Bluegreen, and they just opened a resort...I need to check which island it is on...I think it is Kauii (sp?). So wherever it is, is probably where we would go. My Dad was stationed there right after Pearl Harbor, and has pictures of the islands when they weren't really tourist attractions yet. It was really beautiful then, too. It will be at least a year before we go.
At the end of July this year we are driving down to Daytona Beach, and staying right on the beach. I can't wait. I am SO ready for a vacation!

I am from Australia. Just a question about America and other places that kinda use similar slang n stuff. why is it called a bathroom even at the shops? I mean, there's not bath. Why do people laugh at you when you ask them where the toilet is?
Oh and before you ask. Koala's are smelly and are kept at the zoo and Kangaroo's are mostly in zoos. I've only seen wild Kangaroos in some place that they're gonna build houses on soon. Oh and we have many cities and hardly anyone lives in the outback. I can't see why enyone would wanna live towards the middle of Aus. I wouldn't be able to live within my internet and my shops and my city and all that stuffs.
Oh and I've never seen a wild snake before and redbacks are evil.
Yeah I'll shaddup now A bientôt<br><3 Chisa
