So I think prior to every theme week it would be fun to start a thread and ask you guys what you think would be some fun activities to add to the roster of standard activities that we do for every theme week.
So out next theme week is HALLOWEEN and it starts on Friday the 13th in October and will October 27th a few days before Halloween! So do you guys think would be some fun ideas for activities besides the regular competitions we do every time?
I was thinking maybe some kind of trick or treat thing utilizing the castle.

That's an awesome idea! I had nearly the same thought, except I thought more along the lines of..ask around for anyone who wants to give out candy, and tell them to stock up. Then we can plan a certain date (last day of theme week, Halloween, etc.) on which everyone whose participating sets up trades or something, and all guild members are welcome to go around "trick-or-treating." Sort of like Secret Santa that we sometimes do. It would be fun, but also dependent upon whether or not members can actually do it. I like your idea of the castle trick-or-treating too.

I was just thinking about it... we have seven guild guardians plus our good friend Hazel the witch. I think it would be neat if all eight of them hid in a room in the castle and when someone found them, they get a treat! I would use a submission form like I did in the plot.
Do you think you could maybe iron out some possible details for your idea, fb?

I get what you mean...and Hazel would be great! Hmm..what other ideas are there? Stemming from the drawing competition, maybe you could do (seperately or as the actual drawing comp.) a costume contest where you can draw a costume (neopets-related maybe) and have it judged against the others.

I love that! Maybe instead of a drawing contest we'll do a Costume Contest. Draw a Neopet in a Halloween costume!

Do you think you could maybe iron out some possible details for your idea, fb? Well if we actually went for the member trick-or-treating as opposed to castle, then I suppose it should be set up similarly to the Secret Santa, like I mentioned. The main difference being that members wouldn't be paired up with only one other person - they could give/receive candy as they pleased. So...the first step would be in getting the word out...if anyone wants to host a trick-or-treat stop, to contact you (or the person in charge). I don't think they'd have to mention what items they are giving out, as it wouldn't matter. In real life, you just go door to door and get whatever they have. Members could choose if they wanted to give out one of all the same candy, varied candies, halloween goodie bags (candy + other items), or just non-candy (toys, plushies, stickers...). On the day scheduled for trick-or-treating, we could have a list of links to all participators' trades (where they should be keeping their stock of items), or maybe even make an image map of a 'neighborhood' so people can click on houses as they please which lead them to trades. Anyone would be welcome to trick-or-treat. Phew...lol. I dunno..it would be awesome, if we got it running successfully. Otherwise the guardian trick-or-treat thing would be better.

Those are all great ideas! I love both of the trick or treat ideas. If we decide to do the one with members setting up trades, I would love to help! As for other ideas, I know a few of us had discussed a spooky food drive in another thread.

I love the Halloween trick or treating idea! I would definitely want to participate if we did end up doing that. I also like the castle idea, I love anything that has to do with the castle. Maybe it could be a scanvenger hunt to help the guardians find pieces to their costumes (hat, wand, necklace, gloves, etc) so that they could attend the halloween ball that would be held Halloween night or something like that.

I love the idea of drawing a halloween costume instead of just having a regular drawing contest! I also like the trick or treat idea! I can't wait for halloween!

There must be a rec center nearby hosting a Halloween trick or treat and/or haunted house for kids!

I'm in the same boat as you this year, kris. Nowhere to go and I don't have any little kids to take trick-or-treating. I haven't checked but more than likely Art has to work anyway. I do think it's a lot of fun to dress up though. Maybe next year.

I do think it's a lot of fun to dress up though. Maybe next year. Well then there's just all the more reason to participate in the theme week. A Halloween inside the guild, if you really can't find the Halloween outside of it. But even so, there's *got* to be something going on in your neighborhood..maybe at a park or a parade.
