Hurricane's a'comin... and I'm gone! lol. Won't have access to the computer for...well...through the weekend for sure. dunno how long after that. Time to evacuate now, so...wish Texas well!!!!!  |

I certainly will!  We're leaving in about an hour or two. Projected travel time...7 hours...just to get out of Houston!!!! ugh. lol. |

Awe Becky!!! Just be careful  I had a friend that went down to LA and he said the after affects are far worse in person than they are on t.v.!! We'll all be thinking of you and hoping for the best!!! |

Aw man Becky!
I hope everything is going to be ok... Hopefully your town and relatives will be ok.
We have been talkign about the Hurricanes alot in geography.
I am just really thankful that I don't get hurricanes... its a little hard for them to travel from the ocean to my town.

well i am just glad you guys are getting out. my step daughter was in mississippi during hurricane katrina...she has nothing left. they only took two days worth of living needs like clothes...all her family photos are gone everything. apt in the atlantic somewhere. but anyway she is here in north carolina now living with her dad. the kids and i are glad to have her and her new husband staying for a while though...we didn't get to see her much while she was living out of state. so i hope you and your family heck all of texas and louisana will not be affected too bad.

Best wishes of safety for ya becky. I've never experienced a hurricane..don't live in the hurricane areas..so I don't know what it'd be like to know that one is heading your way. Good luck.

Well guys...I'm back. And luckily...we're all fine. Actually...the irony is that we evacuated up to East Texas to get away from all the junk in Houston. If you've been watching the news, the dang thing changed directions just before it got here and basically passed by Houston and came up to East Texas!!! lol. So, we actually got it worse up there than we would have down here! Craziness... But...even up there, all we really got was some strong wind. A little rain, but not that much! Really surprised us. I know a lot of areas got hit harder, but we got lucky this time. |

excellent news becky...thanks for letting us know so quickly! actually i know a guy named willie p. richardson well dont' know know him but one of my best friends is one of his best friends lives in texas and they got a lot of rain and power outages but they were fine...not sure if you have heard of him he is a comedian and was with my best friend here in north carolina but was performing i think in south carolina last night. he is funny! he called me on the phone once but not as a prank just to talk to me.

Did worry me..After all the mess Katrina caused I was wondering about Hurricane Rita.. Well I'm glad you guys were safe becky...nothing too bad where you were. I hope the aftermath is not a big mess like Katrina..

I'm so glad your safe and sound and everyone in your family is ok. What a scary thing to have to go through. I can't imagine what those poor people are gonig through. And today on the news they were saying there is still 8 more weeks left for Hurricane Season. Hopefully nothing else comes through the Gulf!

glad you're back becky and that everyone's alright, now i'm concerned about everyone around the santa anna area with the massive forest fire that's going on.... so what do you all think? is it the end of the world or what? my goodness it's one natural disaster right after another never been in a hurricane myself and if i have my way i never will.... i'm petrified of the ocean so there's NO way i'd ever live by one, second i'm scared of storms, but that's cuz i was in a tornado as a kid so what do i do? i move to tornado alley  go figure |
