just in case I don't show up for a couple of days, on here, neopets, or nmez, I thought I would let everyone know what's up.... my cpu is completely going out on me... it's no wonder with all of my moves, sitting in tanzi's garage for like what? 2 months or so, it's been dropped and the desk has toppled so many times it's pathetic.

anyway, recently I would be in the middle of doing something and the computer would just restart completely. Well, now it's upgraded to shutting off and I have to unplug the powersource and let it set for who knows how long and then I'm not sure if I can get it to turn back on again. It's not my internet it's the whole syster.... but I've got another one coming, it's on order just waiting for the shipment, and I should have it by Thursday at the latest.... I'm crossing my fingers. Either way, for the time being I still get about 20 minutes every several hours online, so I guess that's better than nothing, but it means that I can't really get into the plot anymore (even though I fought the savage sycamore and had my rump handed back on a platter)

well, just thought I would let you all know, I could be in the middle of a conversation on yahoo (that happened last night) and then there's no power at all... so I'm not being mean (and I wouldn't tell you if i was... lol) it's all this thing's fault, but I have had it since feb. 04 so it's about time for a new one, I was just hoping to get a new one and hand this one over to johnny so he could tear it up instead of mine

It's possible your power supply is going out. Mine was doing that once and Mitch replaced the power supply and that fixed it. Another time it acted like that and he did a reinstall of XP and that fixed it. Just a thought...

hmmm, power supply as in the cord? and I guess I could give it a shot restoring the poor thing again... i've lost count how many times this would be... anyway, it's worth a shot, especially since I can't finish my fountain faerie quest until I know I can safely transfer my pets around ... and yes, I've got the pirate techo plushie now

Inside your computer is a metal box that encloses the power supply. (and yes, the cord does come out of that I believe) If that is getting weak, you will get "wobbly" performance until it finally dies out altogether. You can get power supplies at Staples and Radio Shack, and just switch it out. They should be able to tell you which one you need. Also make sure your fan is working and keeping your processor cool enough. Sometimes they wear out and you don't want that to happen or it can fry your processor.

well, i just did a full system restore... again, and it seems to be doing fine now I've been online for over an hour now trying to get my downloads again

me too, at least until I get the new one but hey, it's doing great right now, just spending a lot of time getting xp sp2 again, firefox (which for all you people, DO NOT get the latest version, it doesn't support the neopets toolbar.... boo) yahoo messenger, skype, and everything else again... it's horrible, but I've done it so often especially lately that I'm pretty good at it now

yeah i hate loosing all the stuff i have on my computer and having to start over....its so depressing! mine crashed a few months ago...thank goodness i had the photobucket and didn't loose all my pictures or i would have been devastated. anyway glad your up and going again..once you get use to having a computer its hard not having it. its been such a crazy life over here this year i just want things to slow back down. now soccer season is over as of this past saturday i am hoping it will. still dating but trying to keep it to one night a week because my housework was suffering..oh well its life...my kids are only young once and i am sure one day i will wish it was hectic again and wish i had more soccer seasons to enjoy seeing drew play...and watching graeson in dance lessons....and drakes b'day is this friday so we have a sleep over to look forward to...but taking them to the movies and supper in pinehurst first...45 minute drive with a car load of 12 year old boys...too much fun lol

well, i finally got my computer today and i only meant to get one but todd acted like i wouldn't be able to get one, so johnny went to bargain center to get one for me and while he was gone todd showed up with a dell and told me that i would get a month free on it and then johnny came home with a new compaq and a new desk for it, so we hooked them both up... and we didn't have to do a network cuz my modem allows us to hook up one with an ethernet and one with a usb, so we've got 2 computers for a month, but i bet that johnny will like having two so we'll keep on of them and then just buy a totally different one... right now it looks like we robbed a computer store... one dell, one compaq, and one emachine
