Hey guys!
This is so neat!
Today the Canadian Navy (well some members) came to my school today.
They were in town with some of their band memebers (not marches), to put on a free concert in town. Well they performed at my school. And than during some of our classes we to the cafe and met the "chief" of the western Canada Navy part (I dunno really know) and they were telling us how if you choose to join the navy than go to school they will pay for your post-esucation and books, and you will have a job after you are done schooling. And there are so many jobs! There is like lots of techincal and mechanical, but there are tons of others, like nurses, and pilots and everything. I knew there were those jobs, but I didn't realize about the schooling being payed for.
I think that is so cool!
I am so interested in it now! I mean getting your schooling and books and everything payed for and than you get a salary every month (starts off at like 2,000 somewhere around there). So basically they are paying you to go to school, and than you have job security and TONS of benefits! And since post-schooling so so expensive (especially in Canada...) I thought was really interesting.
I would love to join the navy and have job security and have everything payed for... But I just wouldn't want to get called into war... And I can stand blood or guts or anything... So... I dunno but it is really cool!
And right now there is approximately 62,000 people in the Canadian Navy! Thats lots of people!! When Canada has approximately 30,000,000 people. Thats pretty good!
I think just having the school and job security is enough of anything though...

DO the Australian Navy offer those things? I wonder, but hey, I'm a girl.
I wouldn't want to get called to war and get killed or anything though
But still, that's cool, like with all the money and jobs afterwards, and I think Canada's peaceful enough (right now) so I suggest you join...

I don't know about he Australian Navy, I ma sure they do. Look it up.
And as for you being a girl... Don't ever let that stop you in doing anything. Im a girl and I think it would be cool to do that! I don't care if guys don't want me there or not.

I once had a presentation to my band class about the Canadian Army Band. You get payed to play in this band (you have to audition) and you play for big important events (like when the Queen comes and stuff) and they pay for your schooling too!!!! And its great because the band's the last group of people they would call to fight in a war...imagine band players fighting...yea!!! ;D ;D

I know they were telling us about it.
A couple weeks ago the group of people that came to our school were in england at this thing and played for th president of the US and the Queen and I think the prime minister of Canada...
Too bad I gave up the clarinet the end of last June...

My husband is in the United States Navy. He doesn't like that it's all that cracked up to be. He's been in for 4 years now.

My second -oldest brother was in the army for 4 years. He's home now, but he would've been in Iraq fighting against them if he stayed another year.

I really hate the thought of war...My history class was watching Saving Private Ryan today, and I really didn't want to watch it. Not just because I was afraid, but because it scares me that this is still happening in Iraq. Its scary!!

My step-brother's joining the American Navy in January and I'm kind of worried because this stupid war that's going on isn't going to end very soon no matter WHO gets elected president, and also no matter who gets elected president they're also trying to pass that bill that changes the draft to include women also and not just men.. (But it was voted on and only got two votes recently) so yay for that

I definitely wouldn't want to be drafted, that would be so scary. My friend Ashley got a letter saying she was in trouble or something because she was over 18 and hadn't registered for the draft, they thought she was a he.
