Hey guys. I guess I just need to chat to share some stuff. I don't know whether to be happy or sad or what to do. My 21st birthday is this Wednesday. However, my grandfather just died and his funeral and layout is Wednesday and Thursday. He lived with my family and we were very close so it isn't something I can just shrug off. I wanted to go out to dinner and celebrate my birthday with a drink but now I don't think that is a smart thing to do. Any ideas on a way I can mourn my grandfather but celebrate my big 21?

^^ i agree with raz.....i think you and your family should have a dinner together and talk about the good times with your grandfather, allowing you to not only grieve, but also be with your family (your best support system) and to celebrate his life and your life. you can drink when you go out, and maybe get something he liked to drink or that you think he would've. i'm very sorry for the loss of your grandfather, but i wish you a very happy 21st birthday stay strong.

I was just a bit older than you when my Grandad died, and I was devastated as we were very close, so I really sympathize with you. And having your birthday at such a sorrowful time is sad.
What about just dinner with your family for right now, and then have an official big birthday celebration in a couple of weeks when you are feeling a bit happier? You can relax more and have a better time then. Just a suggestion...

im sorry about your death!
YEAH--my bday was saturday, nd i was gonna have this party on saturday, but my friends threw me this huge surprise party on friday! wahoo! it was soooooo awesome!
two weeks ago--my friends friend died--i knew her--and her mother--it was Rowan, Sierra, Mrs. G, and Anna--they were in a car on their way to a concert when they took a wrong turn, run into a lake, Mrs G. tried to put it in reverse but that automatically locked all their doors--they screamed themselves to death.....i knew Rowan and Mrs G.........and another sad thing--right before Sierra left to go to the concert which they never made it to, her sister reallly didnt want her to go, but Sierra said-dont worry ill be back soon! isnt that horrible? i feel sooo bad for there friends and families!
