lol, dl! I'm not extremely religious as a rule...so I would say chicken by either theory. (but...where did the "primordial soup" come from??) See...there is just no end......... I just like to think the chicken was here first...after all, SOMETHING had to sit on that little egg to get it to hatch!!

I wasn't going by the dictionary use of heathen... I mean BONES is used by some in place of "dollars" or "bucks" in terms of money but the dictionary surely doesn't say that.
Like I said, people who are uneducated are typically called heathens. When people were exploring aboriginal tribes they often called these people heathens because they weren't "educated." I find it funny actually, during the Spanish inquistion of Mexico they claimed the native americans were heathenistic savages yet they were performing mildly advanced brain surgery in the 1400s while priests back in England were drilling holes in peoples heads to drain out the "bad spirits" Whoa am I gong off on tangents....
The dictionay quotes the word by one definition as "One who is regarded as irreligious, uncivilized, or unenlightened."
And like I said I wasn't implying that you guys were uneducated for not believing in my scientific explanation, it was just a poorly executed joke.

Silly cherry... granted all babies have to come from a parent but eggs aren't exactly babies... they are hard shells that develop babies inside them which makes it more interesting because how would an egg get there with out something to lay it? Now this is where my theory comes into this... and bunny, I say it was the chicken but it has nothing to do with religion... it has to do with sheer logic (This is where the touchy part comes in, IMO, because some people don't believe in evolution) Anyway... The chicken came first. Every living organism on the planet evolved from the "primordial soup" every tree, plant, bug, and animal evolved from microscopic organisms and evolved over time into how they look today. Chickens evolved to walk on the land and they soon evolved to lay eggs instead of carrying their young like most mammals. Chickens came first and their method of reproducing (eggs) evolved over time (came later). Thus, Chicken came first. I have to agree with dl, basically what he said has always been my theory. However, the question is null as it is not specific enough. We would all have to decide when the species chicken came to being. there were not always chickens, they evloved from other, but when did they become chickens? no one knows, therefore, no one can really venture to say wich came first, the chicken or the egg? however, I would say chicken, all things aside.

Cheggs... they came first... Well, I'd say it was chicken, i don't know why i voted for um.... but really, the chicken needs to lay the egg, then hatch it, right? If you say it the god way, he created all the animals, an egg wouldn't hatch without the chicken... And if you say it the scientific way... er... micro... I suppose there is cloning...
