ok, I know we have two other threads for movies, but they are both for specific movies, I thought that having one thread that isn't specific to a particular movie might be nice, so that people won't have to worry about posting something that doens't pertain to the topic.
SO anyway, saw the Chronicles of Riddick today, it was so so, bordering on pretty good. I won't say it was great, because it wasn't, but it is definitely a movie you want to see in theaters, so that you get the full effect of how massive everything is. the special effects look better big anyways. the movie had some really good special effects, and the plot was interesting, Vin diesel(can't spell) was really good as Riddick, and he portrayed the character very nicely, I have to say that I really like RIddick's character ALso, it was better than the first movie, but the ending was pretty much the same, sad, and open for a sequel, the ending was definitely the worst part of the movie though, and left me with a hanging, like the producer couldn't think of a way to end it.

This is an older movie, with Nicole Kidman, but I hadn't seen it in the theater or rented it, so I watched it on TNT the other night. It was so SCARY....just kinda made you jump in places...but it ended up so SAD, and it turned out it wasn't scary at all. Has anyone else seen it?

Yeah I saw signs - I thought it was boring. I get easily scared at films, but for some reason it just didn't scare me!
My dad was trying to get me to watch Hannibal the other day, but I said no cos I think it sounds horrid. Has anyone seen it - and if so, is it as scary as it sounds?

my favorate movie I would have to say would be !0 things I hate about you. A take off of shakespeares taming of the shrew its a hilarious movie with a sweet ending. And i love the character of Kat. Independant and one to be admired for her rejection of having men dominate her life.

My favorite movies...oh there's so many. I love old movies (musicals and things like that). I also like current movies. The last movie I went to go see was....Harry Potter I think. I really liked the Passion of Christ, it was a very touching movie, since it was a visual of what Christ went through for us. I also really like the X-men movies.

We rented 50 First Dates, and it was really good. Funny, sad in places, just a good all around movie. It's the kind you can just relax and watch...you don't have to concentrate to keep it straight. It's just entertaining.
We went to see Harry Potter and we weren't impressed at all with this one. It had a LOT of really SLOOOW places. I liked the previous ones better.

Last movie I saw was Shrek 2. Not as good as the first one but still pretty funny. There's a funny part involving the Pinochio dude that a friend of mine could not stop laughing at. She has one of those weird laughs that everyone laughs at. She kept going for about 5 minutes after the scene had ended. Funny stuff.
Has only here seen the Labyrinth or the Last Unicron? They're my all time fave movies! Mummy bought me The Labyrinth on DVD over e-bay when I was in hospital. I LOVE that movie! *huggles ehr DVD* my preciousssssssssss..
Oooh Oooh! Whose looking forward to seeing the extended version of the last Lord of the Ring? (sorry I forgot what it's actually called. lol) I wanna watch teh comentary on it. the comentary on the second one was sooo funny when...omg... I've gone blank. They play Merry and Pippin. Feel free to shoot me for forgetting their names. I've never forgottn them before. Aiiie it's Billy Boyd and Dominic Monaghan!! How could I forget.... anyways, they're so funny to listen to. They even try to read out the credits XD

I havent seen movies in the theatre for a looong time now, a few years! I really want to see Harry Potter and the Prizoner of Azkaban in the theater, as I have not yet, because it just looks like one that I would enjoy watching on a big, big screen... ;D

today I saw King Aurther It was pretty good, ive read many different versions of the aurther legends. This one im not sure how historically accurate it was but i was pleased to see not so much hollywood magic influence and little christian influence. I was afraid that this version may be under the influence as many versions are due to the altering of legends that occured when christianity conquored britain. But it didnt and that pleased me. though i would have liked to see some of the other characters from the old legends. Like morganna lefay and percival

Ok.
Here's my list of the worlds best films (that I've seen anyway!):
1. American beauty. Twisted, wierd, but ultimately beautiful. 2. Fight Club. I thought it would be horrible, but in the end it was jst exceptional. 3. Forrest gump. I have never cried so much at a film - definately bittersweet. 4. Panic room. Firstly Jodie Foster is a genius, and secondly it is tense all the way through - aaarrrggghhh... 5. Phone Booth. Tense, psychological, exciting, and with the added benifit of Colin farrell! What more could you want!! 6. Gladiator. Stunning. Amazing. Beautiful. ... then of course, Lord of the rings, Titanic and the Matrix, which are just generally great films.
Have I missed anything out?
