Hey guys, I went ahead and went through all the job applications so if you have not recieved reply about a job application then that means I never got it.
That's actually not the purpose of the thread though... I got the basic idea for a new job to add to the guild. It's currently on the job page as "Guild Promoter." Basically the person is kinda like a recruiter in that they promote the guild on the Neoboards.
However, I have no idea what a "Promoter" could/should do on the Neoboards. I'm not very savvy with them nor with the rules for posting so I turn to the great guild members for ideas on what exactly this job should entail. I currently have the pay set at 5,000 NP but if the job duties you come up with for this job require more pay, then I can always up the amount.

Maybe the "Promoter" could go around the Neoboards and advertise, and invite people to our guild, and... hmm... I dunno...

I like your thinking, dl...now just how to carry it out as a Promoter? I think, for starters, it should involve creating an advertisement for the Neopets 'Guilds' Neoboard, and going around and using it on the topics that apply on that board. Then maybe some advertising banners used on shop pages and user look-up, to more fully carry out the duty?

Yes, that'd be a very important role in the job... that person should also tryout for contests and stuff maybe? To get themselves known so people join the guild? I have no clue lol.

that was the only job i carried in the last guid i was involved in and it worked really well..what i did was i went to the boards looking for those saying they were llooking for a guild...i would get a list of like20 people and i would send them a copy of a premade invite i had made that told alittle about the activities we did and how great the guild was..of course i didn't have this one to compare it too...i usually got a couple new members a week by doing this and did this job 5 days a week. its time consumming but well worth it in results

That sounds great, would you mind maybe making a formized but brief description of that for the jobs page?
I was thinking of this person starting posts a few times a week asking people to rate the look of the guild home page, not the website the actual guild home page. Like with a 1/10 scale. Interested people may then join!

Another idea that whomever gets this job can do to advertise the guild, is to send neomails to the users that buy items from their shop that are 10001 nps and greater.

Lots of great ideas for this new job! Sounds like a success waiting to happen..hehe. But I do want to put one reminder forth: You may want to also tell people on the job description that while they should be advertising and sending neomails about and whatnot, not to overdo it...Like, when I used to search through guilds a few years ago, there's one thing I remember from the Guild Neoboard for advertising is that some people got reported for spamming (posting the same advertisement over and over on one board, or neomailing someone over and over). That's the last thing you want, is to get frozen or something. Just mentioning it to be on the safe side.

Yeah I think that's the most important thing is to not be a nuissance.

I found that a good way to meet new people is through trades. Because when they offer, I usually send them a neomail saying if their trade is good or not in a kind way, and then they ask to be my neofriend. Then I invite them to the guild.

through my experience there are so many adds for guilds that what i did was look on the boards to find those looking for a guild..then i had a copy and paste message that i would send to them personally inviting them. it was a bit time consumming but effective

If you really want the ad to stand out, don't do a list. That's what everyone does. I would suggest going on the boards, finding the 'guildless' people and sending them a well written neomail. They'll appreciate it and it will stand out.
Also, let me point out, we have 30 guild invites a day, use them. Go to the money tree or something and just invite people like crazy, normally you'll get few people to join each day by doing that.
