well i must admit i am guilty but started seeing this guy...and that kind of took up a bunch of my time..now schools back i am trying to pop in atleast every other night....but during the day...from soccer practices dance and boy scouts..i feel like i am being tossed around like a beach ball..i am sure when i get use to this very active schedule my life will settle back down...plus our schools have uniforms and i make sure they are washed and ironed with pleats on an every other day basis. i would hate to think my kids went to school with wrinkled khakis on ...drake i only bought him 2 pair of short so i have to do it bi daily to keep him in clothes. and while i am going do the other 2s uniforms as well..but hey my house is starting to look normal again and which was the bad part about summer...i know we have to have outside lives but i still love our guild and it is hard to come in and not see fresh post of activity when your trying to stay active and not having as much time as i use to. but the guy i was seeing i broke up with him but talking to two other guys now...not sure if i will ever date either..but who knows. but you guys know i am always reachable through yahoo and mail. i do try to get on neopets and feed my pets every day which i have been a little slack on and play my few games...and always keep yahoo running if i am not at the desk i say where i am..which i am suppose to be sleeping..just haven't made it to the back yet.

I've noticed the lack of activitiy for some time now. (And I've been one of the worst but hopefully you all understand why, and I'm working on getting my laptop into my wireless network and when I finally get that fixed this week sometime I should be back on more. I'm still on restricted activity though so I can't sit at my desk for long periods of time.)
Anyway, here is just a short term suggestion. Maybe theme week could be extended just a bit, and maybe if we try to really encourage participation the extension will allow those infrequent loggers onners (how do you like those words..haha) to get a chance to be in on the fun. Like maybe instead of one week, make it two. I know I have a story in the works but I haven't been able yet to get it completed.
After that maybe we could work on our welcoming committee again. We used to have a really good network of welcomers, so maybe we need to add on a couple of additional ones for a while. I know it's a big job because I did it for quite a while, but maybe we could take turns on a rotation basis. We need to work on keeping the passers by who just join and look around. (btw I did get a nice response from Catsamew who has a new job now and is very busy)
Anyway, that's my input. Hopefully I can be around more soon. I think I just have some kind of conflict in my Thinkpad software and my Linksys software. Maybe gonna have to have Mitch come down this week and fix it for me. I'm getting too frustrated with it.

Yea I extended the theme week through this weekend, but I think extended it for a whole extra week is even better. Also, becaue they are so expensive I think we'll do them every other month instead of every month. So theme weeks will now double in duration but half in number.

I'm guilty of a lack of activity lately too. There has been a lot going on in my personal life, and when I do get on my computer its usually to just check my email. I'm hoping to be around a lot more though!
As for sugesstions, all the ideas everyone has come up with so far are good ones. I think someone mentioned it already, but in addition to recruiting new members, maybe some of us could volunteer to go through the all ready existing member list and send them a reminder neomail about the guild. I would volunteer to take a portion of the list. I don't know if we would have time to do this for this theme week, but maybe we could do this before the upcoming Halloween week.

That sounds like a good idea to me too, boy. We've done it before, but it has been quite a while since the last time. We divided up by pages and with several of us working on it it wasn't too bad. I think right now it might be hard to come up with enough people that have time to do it, but like you said, maybe before the next Halloween theme week we could take a stab at it.

I did everything you suggested dl and it works now! No more messing up and closing the window and having to start over!!!!! Thank you so much.  Oh, is that all?  I'm so sorry I couldn't have provided help for you...I was having the same problem a week or so ago. When my computer crashed and I had to reboot the entire thing, of course all the updates of Flash and whatnot had to be re-downloaded. I had problems with my ActiveX control thing too. Not to the point where it closed the window, just wouldn't let me view it. |

all i can really say about activity is that everything, whether it's a drive or a theme week, all seem to be the same, things get a little tedious and monotonous.... of course we have a new plot coming up on neopets so maybe that will help.... i didn't get to participate in the altador cup because the blasted thing wouldn't load for me, since my dsl was down and i was on dialup... but either way, neopets in general is getting tedious and monotonous, so it's not the guild... i mean, why are people going to come to talk about neopets when we're needing breaks from neopets? so basically what i'm trying to say is that it's not the guild.... more members isn't going to do anything for us, we've already got tons that aren't active anyway but i have to agree that there really isn't much to talk about

I was kinda thinking the same lindsey. As others have said as well, it might just be Neopets getting a little monotonous for some of our more active members. I feel so reassured to hear everyone's comments and input. Thank you everyone for your opinions. Please feel free to continue to post your completely honest opinions positive or negative.

The reason for the fall inactivity so far might just be the activity elsewhere. You know? School, work, end of vacations,..I think August-September in general is just busy. And you and the guild are already doing so much...I mean, really...what else will draw activity if not all the stuff we've already had going on. People may be awaiting something new and different...A change from the ordinary. I think something that might get more members aroused is just something unannounced..a bit of serendipity... Those are just some more thoughts I'll toss out. I already neomailed you with all my activity ideas so I think my list is wearing thin lol. |

I think once a plot or something big happens on Neopets we should do an advertisement, not necessarily the HUGE one like we did before, but some sort of advertisement saying what a great guild this is, and that we are doing theme's to go along with the plot, like random giveaways, and that there will be lots of plot helped offered.
I think people just need a reason right now to come onto Neopets... its kinda boring right now.

I'm sorry I've been such a dud lately, too. I have had so much going on that I've had to take care of, plus the new grandbaby and my stupid knee. My computer time just hasn't been available like I thought it would be now. I hope that changes soon.
I don't think the lack of activity is because we all are bored with the guild. I think it is just a coincidence that many of us have a lot going on in our real lives right now. Usually it's just one or two of us that are super-busy or unable to be online, but lately it's just happened that it's several of us at once and it makes it way more noticeable. I think it will right itself eventually.

I agree, I don't think the lack of activity means anyone is bored with the guild. I think some of us have been really busy in our personal lives, and like Kristin mentioned, I think some people may have taken a break from Neopets for awhle. I'm sure activity will pick back up eventually. |

I agree..it is sort of proportional to how much activity there is on Neopets. If there's not much reason for someone to go on Neopets, they might forget about the guild. I, for one, visit the guild boards more often than I do Neopets...so that's not a problem for me. But it could be a potential one..

awe  Wow I didn't know that there was not a lot of activity going on here I feel bad! I'm a culprit to I've got a lot on my plate right now with school, family and now my nephew is moving in with us, he has RA and is moving down from NY to be with his family and the warmer climate. So I have to take care of him on top of everything else! I usually get on to check e-mails but I've let them go to! I had around 80 -90 e-mails that I had recieved over a period of time from not being able to check it regularly! Things are evening out at school and William is running around everywhere being his independent self now. can't believe he turned 1 last tuesday! Anyways, back to the topic, I'll definitely try to get on after everything has settled down for the day to check in and see whats going on. Its been a long time since I've been on neopets and for some reason I dunno why but when tanzi added me as a friend on myspace that reminded me of the guild *laffs* I have a lot of you guys on my friends list I don't know what the deal was!! Tanzi I'm not meaning anything mean at all  You just reminded me thats all Well, I'm gonna try and look over some of the other boards and see whats going on William is getting restless. |

As for activity... alot of our old members that were active are now going and trying different things, like Star is going back to work and school, Fairy is prolly busy with her kids, Lindsey is probably busy with her kids and working, and Mdith is busy with school, like me. I really dont know what more to suggest than trying to draw some members off of neopets. But I think the activity slipped in the guild becuase the Neopets Activity has slipped all summer, I know that is one reason I wasn't around much. But now I have to go study... and eat. Be on soon!! thanks for that kristin, i have been busy with a lot going on lately.... it seems like things start to settle down and something else happens. i've recently had a very very bad situation arise with my oldest daughter. she has no gone to live with my mother and i'm having an incredibly difficult time coping.... but when in need, i seem to turn to the familiar, so i'm here again i don't know how active i will be, but i'm going to devote more time to the guild and try to participate more but everything just seems to be the same old same old and after a while it gets tiresome... a new drive isn't a change, it's the same thing done over again, same goes with theme weeks and such, there's just nothing different except for the theme does this make sense? |

Yes it does, Lindsey. There is some repetition in the things that we do. But it's hard not to have that structure. In some ways it's kinda nice to know to expect that theme weeks will be there and that dl will always make them as new and fresh as he can. I think we've got some new ideas for the Christmas theme week that will inject some little unique twists into it. I know in my own personal life I've a had a lot of things going on at once and I've either not been able to take the time for Neopets, or I've just been emotionally drained and there is nothing left for anything, let alone Neopets. I know you know what I mean. Maybe it's just a bit of coincidence that so many of us have had to pull away for a bit. But we've all tried to check in and keep up, and I think things will get better, or at least not get worse. It's a good thing to have the guild to come to when things aren't going so well. It's nice to "see" all the friendly faces and have a happy, familiar place to spend some time. I do get bored with Neopets though. I find I play a few games and don't spend as much time moving around Neopia as I used to. So maybe that is part of it for me. |

it's kindof the same here.... and what's worse is that it really first hit me with the altador plot, if it wasn't still open i wouldn't have finished it, i was on dialup during the altador cup and it wouldn't load for me so i wasn't able to participate at all, so that was 2 avies that i'll never get the chance to get again.... and now we're in this plot
i'm never going to complain about no plots again... one a year is just fine for me, this is getting rather pathetic
then you have to take into consideration all the stuff that we can't do for one reason or another: sultan's quest is only for canadian users, so i'm thinking of changing my country to canada just so i can check it out cuz that's what a lot of canadians did to access movie mountain
and on top of that there's this lutari island which is only for cingular wireless users that sign up for 2.99 a month for mobile neopets... they get all the lutari island stuff, their own bank, the wheel of happiness, their own random faerie quest for brianna, all kinds of stuff that we don't get access to, at least premium was just a special board and the portal, it wasn't anything MASSIVE
