Ok so I will be the first to admit that I have not been terribly active here in the guild but now that things have mostly settled down in my life I want to try and be active again.
As I'm sure many of you guys have noticed, the guild has just been absolutely nothing like it was in terms of activity. This was really brought to my attention by former member catsamew whose honest input really woke me up about the whole ordeal.
I have been seeing the lack of activity the past year and I was talking to cutie_kristin who mentioned that she especially noticed it this summer. Things have been slow and our guild needs an injection of activity!
The only problem is I'm not really sure what we can do so I turn to everyone here and ask what you guys expect from our guild? What should we do more of? What should we stop doing? Do we need more members?
A revolution is in order and I turn to you guys for direction on how to do it!

I'm not sure what to do. I am on here at least every other day (except for this week-my computer has been messed up), I post on things that I can post on, but to be honest there's not much to post on or talk about. So I really don't know dl. I've kind of noticed that along with general activity, giveways have kind of slowed down too. I want to participate in theme weeks, but everytime I go to the theme week thread or the guild website the Activex error always pops up and then automatically closes the window. I went on google to see how to fix it, but all I could find was that you have to buy this product in order to fix it.
Should we start some kind of random giveaway based on participation and advertise that within the guild? Maybe neomail the people who have been active the most recently (within a couple months?) to tell them about it? Are we allowed to do that? Sorry just an idea.

I agree that there haven't been very many topics where you post a lot. The giveaways have also slowed down, like you said kris. I think that's a good idea about the activity giveaways, but that's kind of a contest, and we already have Member of the Month and Magic Cloud of the Month which are kind of like that. I noticed that a lot of people contributed when we have drives, so maybe we could have another one to have our guild re-coop again. I don't want our guild to go away!

Oh I like drives, those are so much fun. Maybe we could have a drive and have prizes for different contribution levels? Not a competition per se, but kind of like if you contribute 50 jellies (for example) you get this prize, if you contribute 100 jellies you get this prize (could also add the last prize to it, I don't know), and so on and so on. It could also be a theme giveaway-people could submit what kind of prizes (theme) they would like to see. I don't know, just throwing out ideas that come into my head.

I went on google to see how to fix it, but all I could find was that you have to buy this product in order to fix it. No, you definetly don't have to buy the product. Try going to java.com and download the newest FREE update. I think that's why your IE shuts down because your java is not up to date. I was having the same problem except it wasn't freezing. I got that error but it wouldn't shut down the window. The problem went away after I updated the java. |

Perhaps the guilds just needs a new influx of members? *shrugs* That's really the only thing I can think of. Or maybe we need a new style of contest that requires a large number of members to participate? I can't really think of what kind of contest that would be though.
Lack of participation could just be people getting bored of Neopets not particulary the guild so it may just be a question of getting more members... Another idea would be to completely change things around like the guild and webpage layouts completely. I like them the way there are though so it's just an idea.
Maybe even an RP?
Well, that's my input for now. May not be of any help but I don't really know what can be done.

P.S. I'm not dead or anything. Just got frozen (due to a mistake which resulted in rule breaking) and have a major lack of internet until the end of the year.
Oooh ooh just thought of something! Maybe adding a guild chatroom?

Oh and krisconcepcion... did you try restarting your computer? If not, try updating your FLASH. I can't remember what it was I did that fixed the problem.

I don't really have any ideas, I have noticed the lack of activity and I, myself, am guilty of it too. I have been going to a lot of doctors appointments lately for Cayden and Kourtney. I have also noticed that people sign up on the guild and when i send them a welcome message they then turn and leave the guild, some say it's because they don't want to leave neopets to join the action. And then we have the problem of all the people that are 13 or under that I can't even neomail. Maybe we could set up a group of people to go through the member list and neomail our members that are not already on here to see if we can get them to sign up on the boards.  |

I don't have any ideas either...Sadly, I am part of the inactivity and trust me it is really getting to me not being able to have the internet around anytime I want to come online..I am not even able to do my jobs in the guild because of it...Right now my friend is at work and I am at his house most of the day...So I am off to read as much as I can and to see if I can participate in Rainbow theme week  Be Well All |

Actually I'm still waiting on final tallies for our last drive. Oh Dl!! I am so sorry that is my fault!!!!! I never emailed them to my hotmail before I moved, and now they are back home on my old computer. I know I donated the most with 1000 jellies (like I said I would), than I believe it was bunnyrabt. Kris, boy_crazier, and a few of the new members donated some along with Fairy, mdith, and Star. If you send me a HUGE reminder when I go home for Thanksgiving in October, I will email them to my hotmail and get them to you than, but that won't be till about October 9th. Sorry... I feel so bad now. |

As for activity... alot of our old members that were active are now going and trying different things, like Star is going back to work and school, Fairy is prolly busy with her kids, Lindsey is probably busy with her kids and working, and Mdith is busy with school, like me.
I really dont know what more to suggest than trying to draw some members off of neopets.
But I think the activity slipped in the guild becuase the Neopets Activity has slipped all summer, I know that is one reason I wasn't around much.
But now I have to go study... and eat.

Ok well I'm glad you guys aren't disappointed! I was worried that everyone might be getting restless and bored with the guild! I think membership drives are probably the best solution. I just have no idea what or how to organize one. Our best advertisement was being one of the biggest guilds in Neopia and thus on the first page. Now it's random so it's difficult for us to get members. I can say this though, this is fixing up to be the starting of a new chapter for our guild history!! Now we just need make some history and get things booming again!! |
