NEW COUNCIL MEMBER selection begins!

Hey everyone... it has been such a long time since we had a new spot open for a council member that we didn't really even remember how we used to do it!!!

I spent some time with our current council and we came up with a method for selecting our newest council member....

Application Period

• A period of one week (seven days) goes into effect at the exact moment that the thread announcing the application period is started. (This thread.... so exactly seven days to the hour that this thread was posted).
  
• Only members who feel that they have contributed to the guild and feel that they will be able to continue to contribute should apply.
  
• You should be sure to list what qualifications, attributes, and talents, and/or ideas you have that can be applied with you as a Council Member.
  
• There is no time limit or particular rank level required to apply. You can be a Light Breeze who joined last week and still apply to be considered for the position.

Selection Process

• ALL submitted applications will be reviewed and considered.
  
• No more than three days after the application period, a consensus will be made among the existing council members as to which FIVE applicants will be considered for the position.*
  
• the council will come to a consensus

Voting Process

• A poll will be created here at the boards with the five applicants selected by the Council.
  
• The application for each of these members will be posted in the thread with the poll for members to review and use to base their choice.
  
• The poll will remain open for at least one week so that guild members have sufficient time to review applications and make their decision.
  
• In the event of a tie, a run off vote will be held which will last at least three days. From this poll, a new council member will be chosen. In the event of a tie in the run off, the council will collectively decide who to select. A gridlock among the council will be settled as fairly as possible by dlfreak.

Council Appointing

• The member selected from the vote will become the newest Council Member of the Silver Lined Clouds Guild and take the spot of the lowest available council position.
  
• Although set up as such, the Council is not a hierarchy of power, everyone on council is seen as an equal and all work together for the common good of the guild.
