I love the top half of the room. In the bottom half, maybe ditch those trees (or move them somewhere else) and make those two corners seating areas. After all, seats are a good thing to have for guests who just get in... just in case! Some paintings or more windows on the bottom half would also help. That's not very specific but I hope that helps, that's what I'd do.
I really like my entrance:

i love your entrance too...but yours looks masculine...and even though i attempted to have some masculine rooms for my male pets i wanted the entrance to be very feminine formal...wish the items looked like they do in the pictures. ...lol believe me i have refered to yours a few times while looking for ideas and the trees in the bottom were last thoughts because i figured no one would want to sit behind doors lol....but yeah i agree with the windows...would have loved to used the golden mirrors instead of the tree window but....i had really no intentions of remodeling yet lol but had to go look at neohomes in the spotlight when i was bored lol..not sure if anyone else is having problems with that site that shows you all the furniture in setting that dl had posted a while back but i can't get in it and it was such a great help. i hate buying stuff and then not able to use it cause it looks odd....i wish they'd fix it...my biggest problem with that is i don't resell it i put it in the safe incase i want to use it later...uggggg so hopelessly hooked on neofurniture lol
ok i went back flipped the furniture...and added seating...eventually i think candles on the bookshelf will look nice and maybe a chair to go with the sofas or...a coffee table of some sort with either a different flower arrangement or something lol..let me know if you think that looks better..thanks...also should i duplicate the sofa on the opposite side of the stairs or do you think the contrast looks better?

Sorry I'm not much help in that regard, or I would put in my two cents. I haven't done much of anything with what little neohome I have. My pets prefer to hang out in their room at the castle anyway. You know how they are....

Oh wow, I wish I could be of some help but I'm not that good at the whole arranging furniture on neopets, lol.
