i found our guild while shopping (go figure) and ran into one of the members shop....the shop caught my eye and i looked up the users name and just so happened to be looking for a guild and decided to check it out...fell in love and have been here since! what was your experience in finding SLCG?

I think this was the first guild in the long list that I clicked on to look at two years ago, and I knew right away that this was the guild I belonged in! =D

LOL... even I technically found this guild kinda (read the history page on the website, lol)
Back in the day when guilds were organized by number of members I went through all the various guilds on the front page and eventually joined the guild. By far, though, our biggest increase of members was with our first NoticeBoard advertisement... I believe it brought in more than 1,000 members. Our second Notice Board was far less successful though, bringing in, I believe about 300 members.

I started searching for a guild, picked the air faerie cloud because I liked that neighborhood and then I think SLCG was in the top 5 or so, didn't want the top 1 or 2 because they're all about the numbers and not the members... so I joined as sortof a trial and it stuck

I miss the guilds listed in order by member... we always had a steady influx of members and we didn't have to focus so much on getting new members but enjoying all the new ones we'd get on a daily basis.

I found the guild like Linds. Just clicked through the first 5 and found them to be either very silly and weird or just no activity until I found this one.

Yeah now it seems like it's really hard for newcomers to find a good guild bc they're not really organized when you search for a guild. And most of the guilds people are making now don't even compare to the older guilds(such as this one! =p).

well i had been a member of two guilds previous to this one..the first one they completely ignored me cause i was a NOOB....no one would offer me advise nor help me in questions i had...they basically treated me like i didn't exist so i said my goodbyes and left within days of joining...the second guild i joined is where i meet irisheyes and was in the guild she belonged to.....the guild was much more friendly and the owner of the guild wasn't overly friendly but the second in command was very nice and friendly to me and took me under her wing and we became close....the owner wasn't very active and didn't come around often and eventually the guild started falling apart....which is why i started looking for another guild. this guild on the other hand took me in and made me feel great from the start...i remember i won several peoples giveaways the first month for being so active and it just made me feel so great and welcomed and i didn't feel like my lack of knowledge should keep me quiet and when i would make a silly blunder from inexperience i wasn't made to feel stupid, rather my activity was very encouraged... and things were explained to me or i learned through continued involvement...we have so many knowledgeable members who like lindsey research the why's and how's of things such as avies, and detailed information on gaming levels....dl with his extreme knowledge of guild regulations, i think the only expertize we lack is a battledome master...again lindsey knows alot about certain areas of this subject as well but not like what formulations and weapons can kill of certain challengers....but we all know her big thing is avies! i on the other hand don't have any expertise and surely don't have a ton of computer skills..bunny can answer alot of those tech. questions...if your having puter problems. we just have a tremendous mix of people and personalities here but each and everyone have one thing in common....everyone does a great job at making new people feel great about being a member at our guild

yeah, I was in one other and they just didn't do anything... when I tried this one out, Susan wrote me and I just felt so welcomed and wanted... then with all the jobs and such I just jumped right into the activity and was welcomed with open arms... it was/is a great feeling

Interesting thread. I found the guild the same exact way as some others of you did...I wanted to be in a guild because I was curious, pretty much just venturing out on Neopets, so I chose the Air Faerie Cloud because of course I love anything faerie-related...I read through a handful of guild descriptions and narrowed it down to just a few to consider, and SLCG happened to be the most appealing!! It's never lost that, so I've stuck around!

now that everyone mentions it i think i checked into the guilds that way too...but had seen dlfreaks name in a shop or had visited his neohome but when i saw this was his guild and remembered his name i checked further into it and liked what i saw...do they even have that way of searching out guilds anymore...i don't remember how i even found how to search through guilds using that...but it was the only time if i did use that method...but does sound really familiar and me using a fairy name i thought i'd check into fairy guilds

I've been in a couple of other guilds before, and they never did anything. My little girl loves fairies, so I knew we wanted to be in a fairy themed guild... I think I typed in faeries in the neopets guild search... anyway, to make a long story short, we happened across this one and immediately loved the look of it. I'm so glad I found you!

I'm glad to have all of you! It's fun hearing the different ways you guys joined... I'm so sorry I've been so inactive for the most part lately, I've got so much on plate since we returned from Florida but hopefully I'll be able to get more on track with guild stuff soon!

I made a lot of progress on my Photopass stuff last night so it looks like today or tomorrow we might be able to send our order on that stuff and that will free up some time in my schedule.. although I still have the daunting task of then organizing all my personal pictures for a website but I don't think that that will really take up a whole lot of time.

When you're done with yours, would you like to do mine? lol I've got pictures from 1999 through the present day on my computer....the task is rather daunting. They need to all be burned to DVDs. It makes me tired thinking about it. I'm seriously considering paying Kari to do it for me.
