Get the old boards... on the new boards!

If you prefer the older version of the boards there is a SEMI-similar function here on these boards. If you really just can't get adjusted to these boards and would like these boards to be more like the old ones then just follow these simple steps...

1. Click SEARCH at the top of the page.
2. Scroll to the bottom of the page.
3. Where it says POSTED WITH IN THE LAST enter either the number of hours or days that you would like to go back in the messages.
4. Where it says DISPLAY RESULTS put how many messages you want to be shown on the page. (If you want to see messages over the past couple days you may want to select 50 or higher)
5. Enjoy reading these boards like you did the others. It's much more confusing to me but if you prefer it that way, I'm not gonna stop y'all!

I tried using that method just to see how it would work, and it has one big drawback. A lot of the time on this board you don't need to use the quote feature, cause you're staying on the topic and it isn't necessary. So, when you list all the posts in a straight line without knowing what catagory they are in, it's kinda hard to know what is being discussed. It's okay to kinda scan through, but it gets kinda jumbled up. On the old board if someone posted on a past subject they usually put the quote in the post. Does this make sense?

That's exactly how it was on the old boards. A lot of conversations going on at once and the only way to fgure out what was going on was to look at the subject title which you can also do here. These boards run almost exacly the same way with the subject head at the top and the messages listed in the order they were posted. That's why I don't like the old boards, it's much easier on these... and you also don't have to read every subject unless they really matter to you.

I think this is a great idea...It makes things much easier...I am in the process of reading most of the threads now...To see what I have missed since my coputer has been down...

It's a good idea, but I usually know which ones I haven't read yet.

I just wish we could have a permanent font 'stead of having to always put the glow on or bold or sometin.

yea, that would be a really cool idea to just have a button or something that when you push it does you font.
