Well, I noticed that my rank says "Magic Cloud", but some other people's have "Magical Cloud" and some people have "Magic Cloud" AND "Magical Cloud". How come?  |

That is a good question.... I have no idea! I couldn't find anything on the website either...
On Fullbloom's it says both...

That is weird...I noticed that slight difference too but I didn't see that some people have both names and some have one or the other. Probably just a minor detail that dl changed..

You can change your profile to read what you want underneath the title that dl puts. Look at your profile and you will see where you can change that. So you can make yours say Magical Cloud down underneath Magic Cloud if you want to. For example, mine says Dragon Collector under my avi, and then I have coding to show the Diamond Cloud where you could put Magical Cloud. Hope that makes sense. |

Hmm I got what you were saying bunny... but we dont have the option to have coding for where yours says Diamon Cloud. We only have coding for are avy and what it says under our avatar. Maybe Dl needs to create a "fake" account to see what we are talking about. It could be that what it shows in council members profiles is different than normal users.

Oh..you're right. I think this has come up before. Dl made those codes just for council members. The other option (Magical Cloud) is under the admin functions, so probably one of the council or dl would have to change it. I imagine the only allowable thing would be either Magic Cloud or Magical Cloud, (or whatever rank the member has) as that isn't an area where members can customize it. As far as I know it is rank specific. As to why some say Magical Cloud and some say Magic Cloud, you would need to ask Dl, as he would have put it in. (I think...unless it's some auto-function I don't know about which is entirely possible. ) The area that you CAN change is the text under your avi. Sorry for my confusion. I've been doing decorations for a wedding reception this Saturday and my brain is taxed to the max! |

Sorry about the confusion everyone. The Custom Title is there for a specific purpose. If a member becomes a moderator their ranking turns to MODERATOR. So in order for us to know what this person's ranking is, I put the Custom Title. However, some people who have never been moderators may have the double ranking or non matching rankings. (For instance, the ranking on top may say Magic Cloud but the one underneath says Enchanting Fog) This is because when the forums were created, we did not have the ability to make groups. (Each guild ranking on the message boards is a "group" and groups can be given certain powers on the boards.) Since there was no way to create groups, the only way I could enter someone's ranking on the boards was by using the Custom Title feature. This was done manually by looking up and typing in each member's ranking. When Groups were introduced to the boards after the proboards site updated their software, I went ahead and created Groups based on the guild Hierarchy. I updated everyone into the proper ranking Group but I never got around to manually deleting all the typed out rankings. This caused everyone, for a while, to have double rankings. I eventually went through and deleted most of them but a few slipped through. So users who were in the Magic Cloud group but had Enchanting Fog under that had been upgraded in rank after the group feature was installed. As for Magic versus Magical, I used to call the ranking "Magical Cloud" but I prefered the term "Magic Cloud" and changed it. The proper term for the title is Magic Cloud If you find any one with the ranking Magical Cloud please let me know so that I can change it Whew, that was long! |
