I don't know how quickly the guild has grown in the past, but six weeks ago, we had only 80 registered members for the message boards, and today we have 144! That's an 80% increase! ;D

With all the new members, I think it might be a good idea to post (maybe under "Guild") a "Newbie Orientation" thread that one of the moderators could put up and lock it so that it's not open for discussion.

In that thread would be "helpful hints for new guild members":
* Link to the 'Like DL' room
* Activity on message boards, especially 'Guild General' and 'Neopets General' is a good way to start being "active"
* After 2 weeks of activity, how to get your "Newbie Welcome Pack"
* Visit the Magical Cloud rooms in the Castle (how to get there and what's there to explore)
* Link to the history of the guild and the guardians
* Link to the Wishing Well!!!
* How contest and giveaway winners are selected (this recently came up in one of the giveaway threads)

... and anything else that might answer common new member questions.

Those are the areas that I found most helpful once upon a time a couple of months ago when I was new, and I was totally disoriented.

Thats a good idea.
I know when ever we get a newbie I pm them and tell them to chec kt herules and to post or pm or neomail me if they have any questions.
I think having that would help alot.

I keep thinking about the newbie thread... but a lot of the things you mention are acessible from the website and that predicament comes up alot on whether to posts these links because you can easily get to them from the guild website. I guess I can make a welcome to the guild thread category.

But seriously, I think having the link to the website is helpful, too. Sometimes the web navigation is faster than finding things through the messages. Good work, DL!
