Well we need to do a neat theme I think. Of course their should be a halloween theme at the end of October.
But maybe to find out the next theme we should take holidays coming up in peoples cultures and than take a look at the upcomings and theme weeks coming up in Neopets. Although we don't want to do the same type theme as neopets (that would take some fun out of it).
How about people list some historic dates coming up in their culture and then Dl and others could choose one. We could make a poll or something.

I normally do theme weeks or at least theme days for national holidays.

Labor Day is a national holiday in the US. Is tomorrow going to be a labor day theme day?

It's not much of a holiday so no, I don't think we'll do anything to that holiday. And I meant national american holidays:)

Haha DL I think it's funny that you think Labor day is not much of a holiday. At least we get a day off!! ;D I was thinking about the theme weeks and had a few ideas.
1. Maybe we could take a guild poll on which country people live on and the top like maybe 5 we can do theme weeks throughout the year on there top holidays. SO that way it's not just about united states.
2. Have an international theme and just have a week to celebrate international festivals instead of doing the above if it's to much work hehe.
3. We can have Seasonal theme weeks since it's going to be fall soon
4. Ummmm there's no number four my brain just shut down lol.
Just a few ideas maybe you guys would like. Get back to me if you need any help with anything!

Apart from the Neopets is based in the US and so is the guild (and its leader) lol, don't think I don't want to promote other countries but if I start doin holidays for every country we're bound to be busy 365 days a year with different themes for different country holidays. I might do some special foreign holiday celebrations in the guild but for the most part we'll stick with American National holidays.  Please don't be offended. |

Maybe you could just have one theme week that's like international or something so the other guild members wont get offended. But i'm sure they wouldn't be. Or I dunno I give up hehe  |

However, there are some holidays that are much more general - obviously lotsa countries celbrate Christmas, I know a few that do halloween (though none as much as america!!), we could eve3n do general seasonal holidays. Just it is kinda annjoying if you don't know what the theme week is about. I'm not complaining, just it seems a little lonely for the non-americans (me included)

Well, there's always the generic "bank holiday." Great Britain and many European countries have lots of those -- days when the banks are closed ... just because.
We could all donate items to the guild shop (which is currently empty), then the NPs generated from those sales could be distributed as prizes and giveaways during the theme week.
We could also create contests centered around things that people do when they've got a day off. (Fishing, anyone?)

Asparagus seems to be the quirkiest neopets vegetable, but it makes me think of spring. So if the concept flies, what about a pumpkin festival? There are plenty of pumpkin items (and we could submit our own "carved" pumpkins -- drawn or photographed), and it ties in with halloween and "spooky" areas of neopets. Keep thinking, friends -- we'll come up with something that appeals! |
