"Please Alexia, please please please?!" pleaded a voice as I listened from behind a tree.
"Fine, Malla, but just this once and don't let it get to your head."
"Thank you!!! I'll be sure to make this a frightacular theme week, man if anyone saw me begging I'd--" just then I accidentally tripped on a twig and fell face forward inbetween the two Guild Faerie Guardians.
"An eavesdropper, eh? Now what am I going to do with you... Ah yes I'll....

put you in charge of getting all the baby pets into their Halloween costumes for trick-or-treating on Halloween night!”
“Oh noooooo….please don’t make me do that! You KNOW how hard it is to get all those babies ready for trick-or-treating! Last year when Edna was in charge she said it was a nightmare. Anything but that”, I cried pitifully.
“Hmph! If you hadn’t been eavesdropping, this task wouldn’t be yours. However, since you seem to need a lesson in manners, my decision stands. You are allowed to have one or two assistants, and you WILL have all the baby pets dressed and ready to go by 7:30 p.m. on Halloween. My decision is final”, stated Alexia rather firmly.
Alexia and Malla walked away in the direction of the castle, with their heads together, deeply in conversation. I wondered what they were discussing so earnestly, but since I had to scurry to find someone to help me with all those baby pets, I didn’t have time to wonder about it for long.
Sadly, everyone I asked to help already had plans, or another task they had to perform for the Guardians on Halloween night. It looked like I was the sole person responsible for readying all the baby pets. I was not looking forward to it.
Halloween evening came, and I met all the baby pets in front of the castle. None of them were dressed, which was as it was every year. At least they had brought their costumes and their trick-or-treat bags with them. I started helping the little ones into their costumes. As soon as I got one dressed, another one would get undressed again! There were baby unis and baby blumaroos all over the place! It was a madhouse! I glanced over at the castle and saw Alexia and Malla at the window, laughing. I admit, I was becoming exasperated, when I saw Alexia wave her hand, and suddenly all of the baby pets were dressed in their Halloween finery, holding their trick-or-treat bags, ready to go! Alexia opened the window, and addressed me, smiling all the while.
“As you have made a concerted effort to do as I asked, I have decided to take pity on you and relieve you of your task. You are free to spend the rest of Halloween night as you wish!”, Alexia exclaimed.
I was very relieved that my ordeal was over, and I vowed to never again eavesdrop on anyone, let alone the Guardians! I have to admit, all the baby pets looked very sweet in their little costumes. I hope they have a good time trick-or-treating! I know I plan to!

"An eavesdropper, eh? Now what am I going to do with you... Ah yes I'll....be sure to have you beheaded tonight” cut in Malla.
“Malla!” cried Alexia. Just because someone eavesdrops, that doesn’t mean you can behead them. “Now, as I was saying I’ll have you stay in the castle tower and make you think about what you done.” “Understand, Alexia2002!” screamed Alexia. “Why out of all the misbehaved neopets, you eavesdropped when Malla and I were talking.” “But,” cried Alexia2002. “No, buts.” “Now go to your room, you’re grounded from the current theme week until the next theme week.” “But, that’s… that’s 1 or 2 months!” whined Alexia2002.
“I’m sorry Alexia2002, but this is to make sure that you don’t get into any more trouble.” “Understood?” “Yes Alexia.”
The moral of this story- Never eavesdrop because you’ll never know what punishment you’re going to get.

...have to lock you up in the dungeon!" Malla cackled." Malla! You can't do that!" Alexia shouted. "Watch me!" Malla smirked and grabbed ahold of my collar. In one moment she chanted a spell and we disappeared in a puff of green smoke.Sweat dripped from my face as she dragged me near the dungeon door. "A-are you really going to p-put me in there?" I stuttered." Psh..of course! And if I didn't, you'd tell all the other faeries that you heard me begging to Alexia." As Malla pushed me into the dungeon, took the key off the hook on the wall, and was about to lock me in, I said "But begging is not such a bad thing to be ashamed of..""What do you know? You're a mere mortal. You people wander around Neopia's battledome and when you lose a battle you go frolic in the games room when you SHOULD be locking yourself in your bedroom, being depressed." Malla spat out. Then she turned the key and locked the door. I was locked in the dungeon, with nothing to eat or do. For hours on end, I wandered around in the vast room of nothingness. I peered out at Malla who was sitting at a desk, munching on chips. Crumbs flew out of her mouth. I turned away, disgusted by how she pigged out. Suddenly my stomach grumbled. I could not take this hunger any longer. "Do you have anything for me to eat?" I asked nervously.
The days went by and it became the end of the week. I lay on my cot, too thirsty to talk and too weak to walk. Malla suddenly walked up to the door and I noticed that she was holding the key. She began turning it in the keyhole! I was being released! Malla pulled me out of the dungeon, a stern look on her face. Surprisingly she began to smile and took her mask off. I was extremely shocked to see Audra standing in front of me. Y-you?? What..?" I didn't know what to say. "That was c-certainly a great costume! I would never have guessed it was not really Malla!" All of a sudden there was a huge puff of green smoke. When it disappeared, I saw all of the faerie guardians standing there. "But if you weren't really Malla, why did you lock me up?" I questioned. "I wanted to make you THINK you were being punished. That is a magical FAKE dungeon. Us faerie guardians created it so that we could teach people lessons. Anyone who goes in there is protected from hunger, thirst, etc. They think they're really being locked up, so they FEEL hungry and thirsty.
Yep, that's right. So no more eavesdropping from now on, ok? We've known about your little habit for quite a while. Nothing gets past us faerie guardians." Alexia said with a smile. "Ok," I agreed, slightly embarrassed. "HAPPY HALLOWEEN!" All the faerie guardians said at once. Then we all went upstairs to the castle ballroom. Alexia snapped her fingers and before you could say 'Candy Corn Classic,' the whole room was filled with Halloween decorations, music, and food. We had a blast. Later, Serena told us to huddle together so she could take a picture for the photo album. Say 'Juppie Cheese!' she said. 'JUPPIE CHEESE!'"...And that.. my dear Neopets, was the greatest Halloween I ever experienced." I said to my Usul and Jubjub, closing the photo album and silently rocking back and forth in my rocking chair.
"Fine, Malla, but just this once and don't let it get to your head."
