More precise than the instructions on the theme week page? I thought I was pretty thorough...
To color it on the computer....
1. Save the file and open it with the program PAINT. 2. Press ctrl A on your keyboard. (This selects the entire image) 3. Press ctrl C on your keyboard. (This copies the entire image) 4. Close down the file. You don't have to save. 5. Open the PAINT program. (Not the file, open the program) 6. Press ctrl V (This pastes the image) 7. Save the image as YourUsername.bmp and then you can submit the picture that way once you've colored it! Once it's colored be sure to save it as YourUsername.gif 8. Don't worry about ghosties (the little white spots near the black outlines when you color in a section) They will not be noticeable after the images are resized and comprssed.
To color it with in reality just print it out and scan it or take a digital picture and sent that.

Hmm, well how I did it was I saved the picture, then opened Paint, went under File and opened the picture, and did steps 2 & 3 that dl mentioned. Then I closed Paint. Then I reopened it Paint, went under File and founcd my picture and opened it. I'm not sure if that was the easiest way to do it, but it worked.

I don't like paint either. I use Adobe or Adobe ImageReady to color. It takes forever. But I didn't want to use the markers that I have and do it by hand because I don't have enough pastels.

I've never used Adobe before to color...do you find it easier then Paint? This is the first time I've attempted this, so I don't really have anything to compare it to.

Paint uses color fill, I believe adobe uses a spray tool.

not sure if i am talking about the right thing or not but paint has a spray can so i think you can do color fill and spray with it. i kind of liked doing that but it did take a longgggggg time but that is because there were so many things to color..but i liked it and i am gonna do it more often so next time i can do better.

Thanks for posting the instructions. When I opened the picture in paint, I couldn't see or color the whole picture. Then when I tried to save what I colored as a .gif file some of my colors turned strange. What did I do wrong?

Thats the problem. The file is in gif format and as such the colors are altered. For the colors to work you need to color the image as a bitmap file (hence having to paste the picture in PAINT)

I like to use Adobe because it has so many different options. It has a paint bucket fill, an airbrush with different sizes, different sizes of paint brushes, pencils, and other tools that paint doesn't have. I just didn't have a whole lot of time to color, but you can do a lot more with Adobe Photoshop or Adobe ImageReady than you can with paint. I'm still learning how to use it though, because it is such a detailed program.

you need to do the control + a to select the whole picture, then control + c to copy it, then close the program completely down without saving it, reopen paint and then hit control + v to paste the pic there and the colors should be right and with all the problems i'm having with this pic, i totally commend anyone at all that's trying to color it, i'm done with the petoot and almost done with the clouds and the sky and ocean, but it's taking FOREVER!!!
