Serena and Aviena were sitting to tea in the Conservatory when all of a sudden they heard a voice from outside grunt: 'Arr, a mighty mean pirate be I!' Frightened, they turned around and saw...
Captain Smuggo enter the room with a mop and bucket, continuing his mighty pirate tune.
“Arrr, pardon ladies,” he blubbered. “I jist gotta swab these here floors, and then I’ll be gitting outta ur way.
Meanwhile Loretta Fontaine stumbled up the stairs in the foyer carrying a very large Water Cake. She opened the door to the Atrium where she met the other Guild Guardian Faeries and the guild members, along with some rather rough-looking rogues she guessed were here fer the Pirate Theme Week. (Among them was Cap'n Threelegs, a tall green lupe dressed in a captain's suit, and many Krawks.)
On the count of three everyone in the room opened the door to the Conservatory and started singing:
“Happy birthday to ye
Happy birthday to ye
Happy birthday dear Serena
Happy birthday to ye!”
Serena gasped, “Oh thank ye everyone! What a wonderful birthday surprise!”
And everyone enjoyed the birthday party whether they were sitting at the classy looking furniture, discussing guild topics, eating water cake, or congratulating the birthday mermaid with presents and hugs all around.

Serena and Aviena were sitting to tea in the Conservatory when all of a sudden they heard a voice from outside grunt: 'Arr, a mighty mean pirate be I!' Frightened, they turned around and saw...
A tiny Baby Blumaroo dressed in a makeshift pirate costume. He was very small indeed, but he had this great big gruff voice!
“Awww…I’ll NEVER be a real pirate,” said the unhappy Baby Blumaroo. With his head bowed and his little shoulders sagging he was a pitiful sight to be sure.
Serena looked imploringly at Aviena and said, “Whatever can we do to help this little guy? He wants to be a real pirate so desperately. Although why he aspires to that is beyond me “
Aviena jumped up and motioned to Serena. “Come on…I have an idea.” The two of them flew off leaving the small pirate wannabe looking after them with a puzzled expression.
In a twinkling they returned, and floating in the air between them was a petite pirate ship. It was very ornate with lots of golden tassels and a ferocious looking black flag with a toothy looking skull and crossbones on it. They set it down gently in the moat surrounding the castle, where the brightly polished brass fittings gleamed in the sunlight. The golden wood of the hull seemed to glow with some kind of magical shimmer.
The Baby Blumaroo was speechless. For once his seemingly mismatched booming voice was quiet, and his eyes were round as saucers.
With a flick of her wrist, Aviena magically summoned a plank and floated it down to land perfectly on the edge of the ship, and with a thunk, it extended over the water to the edge of the moat where the little pirate stood.
“Well, what are you waiting for?” asked Serena. “It’s your pirate ship! Hop aboard!”
He lost no time scurrying across the plank and was soon standing at the ship’s wheel, as if that was just where he belonged..
Aviena waved her hand and a dusting of magical sparkle rained down upon the ship.
“From this day forward you shall be known as the Pirate Roo. As you age and grow older, and larger, so shall your ship, until one day when you are an adult Blumaroo, your ship will be a full sized regulation pirate ship! Treat this responsibility wisely, and be a pirate we can be proud of! Now off with you!”
Pirate Roo lost no time in sailing away on the moat, and if you looked closely, you would swear the ship was growing already. Guardian magic is truly wondrous.
Serena said happily to Aviena, “Once again we have managed to make even our tiniest subjects happy! I love being a faerie!”
And with that the two of them sat back down and finished their tea, smiling all the while

Serena and Aviena were sitting to tea in the Conservatory when all of a sudden they heard a voice from outside grunt: 'Arr, a mighty mean pirate be I!' Frightened, they turned around and saw...
Fauna laughing. "Fauna!" Serena and Aviena exclaimed, "That wasn't funny!" But Fauna kept on laughing. "I can't believe you guys fell for that!" laughed Fauna.
When she finally stopped laughing and looked up, she saw sheer looks of horror on Serena's and Aviena's face. "What???" asked Fauna. They didn't say anything, they simply pointed straight ahead. Fauna gulped, and slowly turned around; frightened of what she would see. When she turned around she gasped, fer there standing was a mysterious pirate.
When she got a closer look of this mysterious pirate, she discovered it was none other than Captain Smuggo! "Oh, it's only ye Captain Smuggo," giggled Fauna, "We thought it was some mighty mean pirate!" "You gave us quite the scare Captain Smuggo." said Aviena.
"Is there something ye need Captain Smuggo?" asked Serena. "Aye, I didn't mean to scare ye lasses, but I be wondering, could ye help me find me key? I seemed to have misplaced it in the Conservatory somewhere." "Of course we'll help ye Captain Smuggo!" said Serena, "Ok, Aviena and I will look around the Conservatory, and ye and Fauna can look around the Conservatory door."
After a few minutes of searching, Fauna exclaimed "I found your key Captain Smuggo!" "Aye, where is it?" asked Captain Smuggo. "It's right here under the vase on the right." said Fauna, holding up the vase so everyone could see the key underneath. "Thank ye very much ye lasses." and with that, Captain Smuggo walks away without saying another word.
