New Change for all future Theme Weeks

Because of the cost of having theme weeks every month (and even though we've unintentionally not been doing monthly theme weeks) I have decided to make some changes to our guild theme weeks.

Instead of one theme week each month, the guild be doing theme weeks once every two months. In addition, to make theme weeks longer lasting to draw more participation from members, they will now double in duration from just one week into two week celebrations!

Now while this does means less numbers of prizes, since the number or prizes needed for theme weeks has essentially halved, I can spend a little bit more on each prize that is given out which is a good thing!

As a matter of fact, this theme week's grand prize is a Rainbow Paint Brush which currently is worth over 300,000 NP!

Exceptions will of course be made. For instance, Halloween is next month but since this current theme week ends Sept 24 that would mean our next theme week wouldn't be until November. However Halloween is a yearly tradition in our guild so we will have a theme week at the end of October.

I think this is a good idea. You probably read my post already where I thought extended the length of the theme weeks would be good. Taking it farther like you did makes perfect sense. They would need to be spaced a bit more than they are now, if they are going to last longer. But over all I think it will be a benefit to the guild because it's more likely a new member might join during one of our theme weeks if they last longer. and see that we are an active guild most of the time. It also gives you a little more time to work on them and I know how busy you are. I think it is a positive thing to try. After all, we can always go back to the original format if this doesn't seem to be working well.

I also think it's a good idea. But I think two months is too long, maybe about two to three weeks. Anyway, I'm a newbie in this guild but I don't know how to post. I tried reading the rues two times but it didn't tell how to post a message.. Thanks

Welcome Artemis! I think that this is an excellent idea!Having the theme weeks last longer will definitely allow for more participation and, especially with schools starting in the fall and vacations in summer...the year is busy! And...like bunny said...if it doesn't work out, there's nothing locking us into it, right? So many times people are scared to change things but they forget that...sometimes it's just as easy to change it back. Anyways...I'm all for it!

I'm glad we are trying something new with the theme weeks. I'm always up for change! Although theme weeks once a month can be fun, we should remember someone always has to be behind it, spending time and NP on creating that fun. So every other month sounds like a good plan to me. This way, there are several benefits:
-We'll have more than enough time between theme weeks to relax and let our creative sides rest.
-More NP on less theme weeks = better prizes for those theme weeks!
-An extra week duration will allow for more participation..on a few occasions in the past, I do remember greeting new members and telling them they just missed out on a fun theme week!
-The extra week will also allow members to spread out their time instead of trying to get all their entries in in a few days.

glad u decided to keep the halloween theme week..thats one of my favorites. but yeah i agree every month is too hard to do. and if you want i will do the theme week giveaways like kristin did..i know i kind of got away from the weekly ones but my days are horrific and getting everything done in a day is taking time to adjust. i literally only have two days where we aren't running our butts off. but that will slow down after soccer season, i think

Well the main reason is to hopefully get more participation but yes side benefits are definetly time and NP!

why don't we try having more things to participate in? i mean, we've got the story, drawing, and coloring page, and it's always the same... why not try adding other things every now and then into it especially since you'll have 2 months to come up with what to add

how about for halloween...do a bob for neggs..with like a peg board done like the treasure hunt thing...and if someone pulls the right peg they get a prize.... or like you did with easter last year the negg hunt but a pumpkin hunt....just a few ideas...it would be great if we could do a pumpkin hunt on the neopia map..so many places to hid pumpkins

We could have a "Design your Lookup" kind of contest.

Hmm..maybe members, if they come up with an activity idea, could personally have their own mini-challenge. Sort of like how fairy_tale_girl does a word unscramble during some theme weeks.
