Here's the place to suggest your favourite poems, so that I can take some for the october newsletter.
Last month I did a poll, but not many people took part.
So, instead, I'm asking you to suggest a poem below.
If you want the same poem, please quote it and then write "Ditto".

um... why? I quite like the idea that poems can add a bit of variety to the newsletter... although I accept that it would be cool if there were some like that... but i don't think it should be a rule.

Because, this is Neopets. Poems and stories MUST be about Neopets to be placed in the newsletter.

I'm sorry, but I really think that's boring... I mean, on the short stories and poetry board there are NO neopets poems, and I'm worried that we won't get any contributions for the newsletter if we put restructions on... did you not like the poems that went in the last one?
I'm really not trying to be awkward, I just wanna make my point.

I did not read the poems on the newsletter but I see that they are not Neopets releated. Since it's already been posted I will not delete them.
I thought that it was clear that everything must be Neopets/guild releated for the newsletter so I did not bother to read them. ALL stories and poems for the newsletter MUST be about Neopets or the guild and this rule will not be lifted.
Furthermore, I don't read the Short Stries and Poetry Board but all of the short stories and poems should be Neopets/guild related as well. Again, because it might have been unclear I won't be deleting any of them but from here on out any non-neopets/guild related stories will be deleted on the boards and not accepted for the newsletter.

I don't understand why you keep saying that's boring. Have you ever read the Neopian times? There have been over 150 issues and stories/poems are never about anything other than Neopets. Neopets is not a limiting theme at all and is by no means boring. The reason they don't allow real world articles/poems is because they don't want real world issues that are potentially sensitive areas to be brought up and I too would like to avoid these snags. Furthermore, this is a world of Fantasy in Neopia... not Earth so articles and things should center around this fantastical element of the game.

lol, dl, i like that last post, that's awsome, lol. i think that i can at least TRY to come up with something abput neopets for the newsletter so you won't have nothing in there. There are alot of talented people in the guild and i'm sure they'll try to come up with something.  |

You guys... I think you think the Neopets theme is too constricting... it's not... if your making a poem about floweres... look up Neopets flowers and use the name of one of those flowers, if you're writing a story, change the protagonist into a Neopet and have them go to a shop in Neopia central instead of the store on the corner of the street...
Why do you think the Neopets-only restriction is so hard/ limiting/ boring? Have you ever read the real Neopian Times? ALL about Neopets and it hasn't gotten boring or tired in the over 150 issues they've published...
What is it about the restriction that scares you? Tell me, what wouldn't be able to be posted in the newsletter with the Neopets-only restriction? What article would not publishable?

I have decided that since The GENERAL BOARD is for everything outside of Neopets that the SHORT STORIES AND POETRY board can be for stories/poems outside of Neopets as well. HOWEVER... the newsletter remains NEOPETS RELATED articles only.

I only thought that the restriction was boring for the poems becasue of the consistantly high standard of non-neopets work that has been given to the short stories/poetry board. I know that having it neopets related is a good idea, but I'm unsure as to how many poems will actually be submitted with a neopets theme (considering the marked lack of them at the mo). I will create an adveertisment for submitting neopets related poems, and if possible could you create maybe a "Neopets poems and short stories" board, so that people understand and havve a place to put them? Well the first board SAID NEOPETS SHORT STORIES AND POEMS and people still didn't catch the drift. Now that both are allowed though, it doesn't matter so I thin one board is fine. It's been moved to GENERAL category.
