Eyes of a Ghost Krawk
Well, these days neopia is much different, especially since the war of Meridell vs. Darigan/Kass. After that battle many of the minions of darigan ran ot hide and still wreak havoc on Neopia today. From Terror Mountain to Krawk Island there is always danger lurking about.
Our story however takes place on the edge of the Haunted Woods in a small village of warriors called the Shadow Guard. In this village there are some of Neopias greatest warriors. What they protect is Neopia in a since because they gaurd against the nightmares from the dark side of the planet.
The main character for this story is a young ghost krawk by the name of Brandor. He is the best fighter in his age and weight class and has trained very hard for almost 2 years now because one night a a week before the village elder's daughter Prina was kidnapped out of the shadows. Not a single neopet saw who or what it was that took all they know is that she is missing.
Brandor was training very hard with his brand new Brass Knuckles and Krawk Jaws because after Prina was kidnapped he knew he MUST be ready to battle at a moments notice. After he gets warmed up two very large wolves stride up to him. "Brandor we have been sent by the elder to accompany you to the Arsenal of Light. Please follow us." the two lupes growled one was a werewolf standing upright in the usual fashion and the other was purple and resembled the famous faerie catching bounty hunter, Balthazar. "Ok, i'll just be a minute i must get my pack." said BRandor as he went inside to get his pack. He came out shortly and they headed on their way, after about 10 minutes of walking the lupes cut sharply to the left and followed a path unknown to Brandor, as they followed it brandor saw a large building that was brightly lit but had no torches. He knew immediatley that it was the fabled Arsenal of Light unknown to all but the legends.
As Brandor opened the door the two lupes spoke in a tone that sounded more like a growl but was still audible, "Choose you gear quickly, we are going to notify your partner in the mission you are about to embark on. We will be back soon." "I will do my best." said Brandor. He looked around quickly searching for items that will help him the most on his quest. Brandor like many other fighter here were blessed by light faeries so they could control the power of light. He finally chose a Flaming Sword a Bottled Light Faerie and a Large Metal Shield just as the lupes got back. "Have you chosen? If so please I would like to introduce my self I am Pyru." said Pyru, he was a red shoyru whose stare could cause instant searing pain. "Yes I am done here, can you brief me on my...I mean OUR mission?" asked Brandor. "No, the elder said he would like to tell both of you in person." growled the lupes. "I still dont even know what it is, if it helps." whispered Pyru to Brandor.
Yet again the two lupes took them down another path although Brandor knew this one it still looked unfamiliar on this night. The four walked for almost twenty minutes zigging and zagging their way throught the ancient oak trees untouched since ages long forgotten. They came upon a clearing with a huge bonfire roaring in the center, "Welcome Brandor, Pyru I have to speak with you soon but first please have some Glazed Spiders and Pumkin Juice while i tell you nwhat happened." said the elder, but soon his face turned hard and grim as he was about to tell them the true story of what happened to him daughter Prina. " It was last tuesday on what im sure was'nt a coincedence was Jhudorah Day the day when all evil seems to get stronger and smarter. My daughter Prina had gone out to a familiar grove of cedars to play hide and seek with some of her friends. When she was hiding the seeker heard a sharp scream of pain and fear, all of her friends knew the game was over so they ran to help her but she was gone. We sent out a search team two days ago...there were no findings of importence." as the elder stopped talking he hung his head in grief waiting for a response from Brandor or Pyru. "You have the choice to not accept the mission but please think about it. if you accept you leave tonight in one hour to sneak into Jhudorah's fortress and inform me and the Faerie Queen on what information you recieve about any possible kidnappings.." stated the elder with his command back into his tone. "On our way sir!" Pyru and Brandor said in unison.
They left to go back to Brandors house, they decided to pack quickly and sleep the rest of the hour that they had of peace and quiet. They woke up soon thinking it had been only a minute but it had been a half hour too long. "Come on Brandor we cant just keep sleeping here we have got to go! I've heard of the ghost painted pets being stibborn but this is ridiculus!" yelled Pyru into Brandors ears tyring to wake him but that really wasn't going to happen because ghost pets were stubboprn mostly because nothing can harm them or force them to do anything because they can disappate at will or paralyze someone or something where they stand. "Uhhh I'm awake, I'm awake!" muttered Brandor as he woke up from his deep dreamless sleep. "Ok fine lets go, we need to be out of the haunted woods by tomorrow evening." said Brandor still rubbing his eyes trying to adjust them to the bright house.
"Now what!" Shrilled Jhudorah as her kyrii slave interrupted her conversation again. "M-m-ma'am your v-visitor has a-a-arrived." stuttered the slave as if he were on cold mountain in a snow blizzard. "Well, bring him to me then. I told you he is an important guest so hurry!" said Jhudorah with a blood curdling smile. The kyrii didnt say anything and ran off down the hallway to fetch the creature in the lobby. "Ah so my ambassador has arrived. Good he was on time, now about our arrangements. What do you offer us for our services, we shadows do not often dawdle with the mortal." said the shadowy shape in the mirror. Although Jhudorah could not see much in the mirror which was just different shades of black. She could still make out the figure.
As the kyrii reached the faerie's waiting room it seemed to be empty until out of a shadow a tall creature shot out. Standing in front of the kyrii immediatly. "Please sir come with me, my owner will se you now." said the kyrii with a very pale face. As he led the creature down the hallway he noticed that when the creature moved he molded with the shadows filling every darkspot available and the few times he did step into the light he seemed to go transparent as if he was a ghost. They got to the door where Jhudorah was talking and went inside. "Maron so nice to finally meet you, I am Jhudorah as im sure you already know and although i live on this side i am not in favor of it. I work with darkness or what darkness i can get over here in all this blasted light." said the faerie with the most friendly smile the slave had ever seen her wear. "Yes ma'am. We have not yet come to an agreement on what our currency will be in this trade. Our troops have already captured the 'acara' as you told us to and is being held in one of our prisons we will need to transfer her to this fortress of course but first the currency." said the Maron with a very evil yet diplomatic tone to his voice which was more like a soft whisper. "Well I have been thinking and i suppose that i could give your most elite troop a Wand of the Dark Faerie for each soldier in the troop and a Wand of Torture to your master here." Jhudorah said still trying not to yell and scream as she was won't to do. While she left the room to let the two shadows talk through the mirror alone.
"Sir i could sense she was lying but we dont have much to go on. I could steal that torture object she spoke of for you but i dont know if that will make you content." said the shodow now talking in his own tongue so as to mask their conversation. "yes i would very much like that 'wand' i think she called it but you must first wait till she is asleep, I sense also that she was lying and she will gaurd against us if we attack so i am sending you on a recon mission stay in her fortress and inform me on her plans." said Maron's master with a supreme smile on his face. "Yes sir, I will do my best." said Maron and he just finished talking as Jhudorah returned. As she walked in Maron noticed that she had a small scepter carried in her left hand. "Here is the Wand of Torture and I will send my dark faeries with the Wands of Darkness." said Jhudorah while displaying the scepter's power on a lifesized Illusen doll. As Maron watched her use the scepter on the stuffed toy he became greedy wanting all that was evil so he controlled himself knowing he only had to wait till dark, or at least as dark as it got on this side. The doll kept twisting and turning, every few seconds the clothe would tear and the stuffing would start coming out and then it floated and the shape became a small ball of pain. "There you have seen the power of my torture device, I believe i can trust that the girl will be delivered to my fortress. After she is in a cell i will give you the items promised." Jhudorah said making sure that Maron knew how this was going to work but Maron had a very different plan in mind.
