Yey it's coming out soon *prances about with joy* I can't WAIT to see the movie. I saw the musical when I was about 7 or 8 and I've always loved the soundtrack and the story is so beautiful. I haven't been able to get my hands on a copy of the book but if I'm lucky i'll find one still. lol.
I'm looking forward to seeing it however I already know that Emmy Rossum (or whatever her name is) kills all the beuatiful songs so i'l block my ears.
Anyone going to see it?

oh I absolutly loved that movie! And emmy rossum didn't kill the songs, she was quite good at them, I thought. She was also in the Day After Tomorrow, if you remember that movie. I thought Phantom of the Opera was great, especially the Phantom. I went out and bought the book and the soundtrack right away. Btw, you can still get the book, I found one at my nearest barns and Noble, and at borders. It is by Gaston Leroux. Also, I am so happy, the musical is comming to my town this summer, and I got 5th row tickets! finally!

Also, I am so happy, the musical is comming to my town this summer, and I got 5th row tickets! finally! I don't think We've got any of those store here un Australia. I found a copy of the book afterall though Now I want to see if I can maybe find a copy of it in French. That'd be great. OMG You have tickets!!! *cries* the play has only been in Australia ONCE (i think) but I desperately want to see it again. I missed the first scene or so because I had a panic attack lol. Oh well... if I save enough money I might fly to any country it's playing in. lol. We had 5th row tickets too when I went to see it. It's absolutely magnificent. If you liked the movie you'll be absolutely blown away by the play. I finally saw the movie and didn't like it. The first half was ok (except for the part where Rossum sang 'Think of Me'). After the first half it started getting a little boring for me. I suppose I'm too in love with the original soundtrack and the play. All I can say is that Emmy Rossum and Gerard Butler are most definently no Sarah Brightman and Michael Crawford. *le sigh* Oh and the scene where you see they all received notes from Erik (The Phantom) wasn't done very nicely. I really didn't like that scene. Oh well. AAAAaaaanyways, it's really funny because my family and I are the only ones I know of in person who didn't really like the movie. My mum liked it but not enough to see it again. *shrug* I could go on for hours about all the things I really disliked in the movie (Mainly Emmy Rossum's singing) but I won't. I sound stupid as it is so i'll shut up (or cease typing) before I start an arguement. lol. It had it's good bits though.

;DPhantom of The Opera was amazing! I've seen it twice in theatres now..it was THAT GOOD. The songs are great, the acting is great and the story is great! I heard it is nominated for best picture or something ! Anyways, if you haven't seen it yet you definitely should. IT'S A MUST SEE!!

I'm curious now as to how many people had heard the original English cast soundtrack before seeing the movie?

Phantom? Emmy killed it. Killed it dead with sporks, emotionless acting, canon-mutilation, and bad, bad singing.
Also, Joel Schumacher must never inflict his heavy anvils of blockbuster destruction on anything. ever. again.
That said, I always like ALW's music. I'm going to go listen to Sarah and Michael do it RIGHT, now.

Myeah, I changed my opinion on the movie slightly, I like the cinematography, set design and costume design (except the Erik's mask). I've got to learn to treat it as just another version of the story but it is still hard to believe the cast that was selected *shrug*. I don't know... maybe I hate it so much because I had extremely high expectations for it? Oh well.
