Me and a few friends are going to see it the day it comes out..actually we're seeing it at the earliest time they have. I'd rather see Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in the evening but oh well. I think it'll be really great, I love Harry Potter.

I'll go and see it with my kids - they are looking forward to it. We went twice to each of the other movies and bought the dvd's which have been watched many times. It doesn't open here till the 24th.
I really disliked the ending of the last book, so I'm not as much as a HP fan as I used to be. I knew someone was going to die, and that Harry would have to be the 'hero' and face his foe alone in the last book, that was obvious. But for Harry to help the character to die by feeding him poison was just tragic and horrible and not very appropriate for one of the main fan groups of tween children - one of my kids cried and hasn't picked up any of the books to re-read since. Every other book she's re-read multiple times.

i love harry potter and will take the boys to see the movie when it comes out. not the first night thought because it will be sold out here or in southern pines...45 minutes away...which our theater shut down years ago because everyone wanted to go to southern pines because they built a really nice one there. but as of his last movies i don't remember any posioning either but not sure what will happen in this next movie..they boys have the books but i haven't read them.

I probably will wait a while, until the big craze has passed and the theatres are hopefully less crowded before I go to see it.

A) Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (Sorcerer's Stone) B) Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets C) Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban D) Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire E) Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix F) Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince Tom Riddle (Voldemort) made horcruxes. Oh! Are you talking about when Harry and Dumbledore went to destroy one of Tom's horcruxes and Dumbledore had to drink that potion stuff? And then when they got to the bottom, the horcrux was already destroyed? Harry didn't kill Dumbledore, Snape did after Malfoy tried to. Dumbledore was just kind of injured because it was nasty stuff that he made Harry make him drink.

Yes, last book, Harry contributed hugely to his death. Iif he hadn't been poisoned by that green potion that harry forced him to drink, then he could have easily fought Snape and Malfoy in his office in those last scenes. I see the whole ending to that book as a tragedy.
I have a 10year old who was so keen on HP and read and re-read every book and been to each movie twice, and got the DVD's and watched them many many times. Since the last book, she has not talked about HP at all, has not watched any DVD since, and has only read the last book once, not multiple times like the others.
We all knew someone was going to die, and Dumbledore was one of the obvious possibilites (along with a few others), but in our family we all disliked what Harry did and the way in which the book ended.
We will all go and see the new movie, but my kids have moved onto Eragon and Eldest now.

Well it sorta depends how you think of it.. Yes, Harry was the one that made Dumbledore drink the poison but if you think of it that Dumbledore made Harry poison him, he's innocent and just following orders lol. But in any case, I agree...I cried while reading the end of the 6th book too. It was just so depressing..Dumbledore was one of my favorite characters and I was really hoping he wouldn't be the one.

Glad I found the right spot!
My dad things Dumbledore isn't really dead. Have you noticed where he always seems to know when everything is going to happen. If you watch in the 3rd movie, Dumbledore turns the two men coming to assassinate Buckbeak around when Harry, Ron, and Hermione are coming out, or was it when Harry and Hermione went back in time and rescued BuckBeak... He thinks that Dumbledore used the time turner and he'll go back to before or that Snape has an Unbreakable Vow with Dumbledore so Dumbledore isn't really dead. It was really confusing when he told me but I'm kind of convinced.

I hope your Dad is right. But I think that the lead character in the book has to face his enemy alone in the last book without his teacher/mentor there to help/guide him. It will give Harry more ..umm can't think of the word... credibility (thats the word I wanted), more power to his character, he would be more of a hero for standing alone, without his school, without his teacher to back him.

I saw it on Friday..I loved it! They skipped a lot of detail from the book though..especially in the beginning. They didn't show any of the Quidditch World Cup or any scenes with Dobby. But overall I was pleased with it..very funny, very depressing..a mixture. Fred and George Weasley were hilarious and the scene with Moaning Myrtle was as well. I recommend seeing it..
