if i was a parent i probably wouldn't encourage my kids in reading the books but the movie has kind of left out the religious opinons of the author so i don't think there would be a problem letting children watch it.

I have not yet seen the movie. I really would like to. From the ads I have seen it looks very creative (kind of different) I am going to start reading the book this week to see how I like it. I probably would enjoy the book better than the movie with all those extra details and events that they leave out of the movie.

We saw it. I liked it okay. I think you really have to look to find the bad influences that so many people were afraid of. It's fiction. Of course what the rest of the stories in the other books in the series are about is another thing altogether. I think they get progressively worse as far as going away from God. But I haven't read them, I'm only going on other reviews. So I can't be certain.
