Newsletter returns... christened: Guardian Herald

Alright... this is such a huge task and I really don't know how to go about organizing it. But I think I'll add a description of everything that will be in the newsletter and then for whatever I need help with I'll note it.

Just post here what ever it is you'd like to take. I suppose we'll do it on a first come first serve basis.

IMPORTANT: I would also like to note that as with the first time we did our newsletter. ALL ARTICLES, POEMS, etc MUST be about Neopets or the guild. This may sound limiting but it's really not as bad as you tink. What we are really trying to avoid is articles about real world things like religion, politics, sports teams, etc. A PM and Neomail confirmation about the articles you take should also be sent just to double check and make sure no articles get left out or checked twice. Everything should be Neopets related somehow or rather be able to happen in Neopets.

We need someone to come up with a Quote of the Month (Preferably something funny or thought provoking or completley off the wall that was taken here from the boards) Should be Neopets related otherwise.

Travel log: in each issue you will write an article about a land or mini world in Neopia or maybe even a specific place within the land (Ilusen's Glade or The Kelp, for instance)

Horoscopes: They should be created for a month-long fortune (since the newsletter is monthly) and should definitly be Neopets influenced if and whenever possible. (lindseyacron you claimed dibs first so let me know if you'd still like to do this.)

I suppose we can do an advertising section as well but the ad placement will be free.

We need a "Get to know a guild member" journalist to write an article for each issue which higlights a different member in a get to know them article.

And as always we'll need every "regular" guild member to write up stories, articles, poems, and comics to be featured in the newsletter! You can submit as many as you like and unless there are any major problems it should be published. All articles should be no shorter than 500 words and we stress NO SHORTER than 500 words.

We'll need someone to go thorugh all the submissions, proof read them, spell check them and be sure to get them to me before posted deadlines.

I will run the editorial myself.

There are no prizes for being published in the newsletter but you grant us permission to publish your submissions by sending them in for this purpose and we reserve the right to use, not use, or remove any submissions for any reason we deem necessary.

PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT any articles, stories etc yet. We do not have anywhere to send them yet!

Hey dlfreak, as I said in my application, I would love to help out with the newsletter and will be more then happy to accept submissions to proofread them for the newsletter as well as do the advertisements. Anything to do so I can help out.

Hey dl, whenever we get everything set up I am wiling to the first guinea pig in the get to know your guild member section, I can write about myself and I think it would be cool to have a picture submitted for the guild member we are getting to know.

dl are you asking for one person to do the "getting to know your guild member" articles and is it one person collecting info and highlighting that person for the month?or each person send in something they wrote up about themselves?oh and any of the jobs mentioned i will also volunteer for, except spell checker...as we all know my spelling was lost in last pregancy. but i might could do though provoking..off the wall lol...kind of is me anyway isn't it?!? and maybe if phil needs help on the getting to know your neighbor articles i can help...maybe gather info on the people and let him write the article or visa versa...i know he is busy with school work and just being a husband. so if he would like to divide up the job i would gladly help him. or we could take turns every other month. but seeings how he asked first i will let him decide if he is interested in help. or not sure if you have to apply for this postion or we just ask.

I'd be happy to help with the proofreading and editing of articles and stories and such. I'm not a super writer, but I can edit pretty good. If nftysqrt69 has already taken over that job, I'd be more than willing to help her or split up the work if she wanted

Ok so so far we have...

nftysqrt69 verifying all submissions and mdith_laney_14 possibly helping. I think for this job I will create a hotmail account and give the proofreader(s) access so that they can check the account, save submissions, reply to the sender that it was recieved, then proofread the submissions. If an item marks up as read when nftysqrt checks it then that means that mdith already is taking care of that submission and vice versa. Let me know if this is how you would like to run it nfty.

philicheese will do the Get to know a guild member section. You write one article for each member about a different guild member. It is fine if you do yourself for the first issue. A picture is absolutely optional and up to the member you are interviewing. We only need one person to do this since there is only one article per issue on one member per month.

nftysqrt69 wil also be handling the advertsiements.

lindseyacron will be doing horoscopes.

fairy_tale_girl64 will keep an eye out for good quotes for our Quote of the Month.

All that leaves is the travel log which I suppose if we don't get anyone to do it that I can do myself. I'll give this a day or two more and then we'll start a submissions thread!

Well you're not supposed to create a quote, you're supposed to pull a quote from the message boards. Something that everyone will remember and laugh about or something like that, ya know? Like for instance...
