We have Student Elections coming up, and I'm thinking about running, so with all the work of trying to win with all the end of year things like big projects and end of the year tests, i'll be swamped so i probably won't be on as much. plus, i have track meets every thursday, and they take forever.
I do have one question. What should I run for???
President or Secretary? If you get second place for President, you become VP. Really need to know, and not many of my friends are really helpful. Tough decision.

Well would you want to be in charge or would you want to keep track? The president position at our school is tough... Its up to you really. But good luck with everything! June is stressful.

wow, good luck with everything... and to be honest, i'd actually go with secretary cuz i agree with kristen, president will be very very busy, even if you got vp and with track and everything you don't want to over work yourself.... but that's just my opinion and of course we all understand how busy it can get, don't sweat the little things... we'll all still be here

I agree with kristin and lindsay. You are already busy with tons of other things and being a secretary is not a busy Have Fun and GOOD LUCK

We'll miss you, but I can see that you're probably really busy. I'm not sure, President and Vice President stuff is only for our Middle School. If you like putting time and work into making your school better, go for president. If you don't want to be too busy but still want to help, go for secretary! And Vice President is about in the middle, but closer to the president side.

First of all, I commend you for wanting to get involved in the running of your class. I would thoroughly research EXACTLY what is expected of each position, and find out how much time is involved for each job. Then try to realistically judge how well that time will fit with the rest of your life, plus leave a little free time to recoup. Then you'll just have to decide what works best for you. And yes, we'll all still be here...so enjoy yourself and don't work too hard!

At our school our president puts in TONS of work. If someone can't do a job, it is up to her to do it. We have a position for running the dances and prom, and the person who is in charge of it didn't really take of the prom decorating and such like he should have, so the president basically planned everything. Plus she is busy with school and work and life, so it is a big committment, but she seems to manage and do a great job, which I commend her on. Although there hasn't been many theme days and such this year, they are still doing a good job. My friend is the secretary and all she does is take notes. But since she is a member of the student council, she helps out with everything and offers her opinion constantly. I think it is up to you Sarah, which do you feel you suit better... being 110% involved or being maybe 98% involved.

I ended up running for secretary, but I didn't win. The most popular people that ran ended up winning. Popularity contest. I have about one or two projects left and then summer, so i'll be a more frequent visitor.

Oh. It's so unfair how much of an effect the way someone looks get them. Everything is a popularity contest nowadays!

It is fun when you run Sarah! That is what I like about it... But it sucks that no matter what school you are at or ano matter how good you would be, it is a popularity contest... Its pretty sad.

The same thing happened to me when I ran for re-election, I lost to a popular girl even though I had already proven that I was a great secretary. It seems like sometimes that's all life is....a popularity contest.
