Well guys I finally am going to have my knee fixed. On Friday I will be having arthroscopic surgery on my left knee, so I know I definitely won't be around at all on Friday, and probably not on Saturday either. I'll have a lot of pain medication so I think I'll probably sleep a lot for a couple of days.
Anyway, if anyone needs to talk to me about anything, do it soon or you'll more than likely have to wait until the first of next week.
And please don't worry about me...I'll be fine. I only have to be out (general anesthesia) for a short time...probably around 30 minutes. Art is taking a vacation day and then his four days off starts so he'll be here with me for five days, and I know my Mom and Dad will be in and out. I'll be well taken care of.
So when you see I'm absent for a little while, that's why.

Was trying to sleep and it wasn't working very well, so I thought I would hop on here for a sec and give you all an update. I haven't been able to spend much time sitting here at my desk, but I think I can sit here for a few minutes.
Surgery went fine, but my knee was in worse shape than he thought. The outside of my knee is like a 17 year old knee, but the inside of the knee has NO pad left at all, and is just bone rubbing bone. So the series of shots I was going to have won't help, so I'm not going to get those. Dr. Hornback said that some people get along fine for another 15 years, and then have to have knee replacement. Then, others have to go back in a year and have it done. He says it just depends on a lot of different factors.
I still have swelling, and pain, although the pain is less than it was before I had the operation, so at least that's something! I've got good pain meds that are keeping it under control and it's a little better every day. I use my crutches part of the time, and the rest of the time I walk really slowly and that works okay. It's just going to take time. I'm taking it pretty easy, because I want it to have the best chance at healing that it possibly can. Art is being a real sweetheart, and waits on me hand and foot. He went back to work yesterday, but then he'll be on his days off again soon.
I'm getting sleepy now from my pain meds so I'm gonna go try again to get some sleep. If anyone needs anything, just pm me or email me, and I'll get back wih you and see if I can help you out.

I hope you feel better soon Bunny. It's good to hear that you're knee doesn't hurt as bad as it did before the surgery. You'll be chasing Graci around before long!  |

Guys, I am SOOO sorry I haven't been able to be on very much. As some of you know, the laptop I bought to use while I was recovering from the knee surgery was defective, and THEN the replacement was too! So I'm still waiting on that and the only way I can use the computer is to sit at my desk which is still very uncomfortable to do for any length of time at all. On top of that I've caught the darn flu bug that is going around Crawfordsville and I've felt like (insert any word you like here because any I feel like using probably aren't allowed). So it just hasn't been real comfy to spend any time on the computer. I've checked email and that's pretty much it.
Anyway, thanks to all of you for understanding and being patient with me. I will be back to my old self as soon as I can. Art is picking up yet another replacement laptop for me tomorrow, so if that works ok I'll be able to be back to normal sooner. Keep your fingers crosssed!

I wish you the best as you continue to endure that knee surgery and its side effects, bunny! This strikes me as such a coincidence, I thought you might be interested, because my Physics professor announced today that his wife is having knee surgery in the near future. You're not alone. Thanks everyone, for your well wishes. I went yesterday for my post op visit with my doc, and I'm on FOUR MORE WEEKS of restricted activity!!!!!!!!!!!! GEEMINY! I'm about to go stir crazy. He doesn't want me to walk much more than just going out to the mailbox and from the house to the truck and then just short distances if I go anywhere. It's a complicated explanation why, so I won't go into all the detail. But if this doesn't work I'm going to have to have a total replacement!!!!! And my doc says I'm too young for that so he doesn't really want to do that if we can avoid it. (no kidding)
I MISS MY HIGH HEELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! booooohoooooo

I'm glad that the pain isn't as bad as it used to be bunny. I will continue praying for you. We understand about not being active, it's happens so don't feel bad. All we want is for you to may a full recovery. |

Thanks, Kris. I'm sitting here now with my cryo-cuff on my knee, and guess what??? I'm actually using my laptop!!!! It's so funny....there are three red x's in my taskbar saying that my wireless internet isn't working, and my local network and my thinkpad software arent's working. But, I'm connected and I'm downloading the microsoft updates I need and I'm here on the boards!! Not sure long how it's all going to keep working, but for now it is....so keep your fingers crossed that it continues. This way I can be online SO much more and get back to doing my giveaways and stuff. I think Graci may be here overnight on Saturday so that's going to take a lot of my time. But in general having this working will make it a lot easier for me to spend time with the guild and keep my knee elevated and in it's really stylish cryo-cuff. lol |

As if my darn knee wasn't enough, now I'm kinda in a family crisis thing. Although I should expect that...it's been a few months since my daughter-in-law has had one of her "episodes", so it's time. Anyway, I'm not going to be around much for a few days and just wanted to let you know.  |
