I posted this in the staff area but decided I wanted everyone to know that I'll be unable to be here as much as usual for a few days..maybe a bit longer. Here's the post: My activity is going to be down for a few days. Graci is in the hospital in a town about 35 minutes from here. We were up there today, and will be going back tomorrow, and I don't know about Sunday. I'm not sure when she'll be released, but I'll probably be helping Kari out some next week until things get back to normal. Graci has a stomach virus that is running rampant in central Indiana. It causes dehydration because everything just runs right through, or comes back up. Our poor little sweetheart has lost FOUR pounds in a week. So she's on an IV and is just starting to get some food to try and get her built back up. She feels SO bad...she's just cries off and on and we just have to do the best we can to make her feel better. Mitch and Kari can stay 24 hours a day with her, and the hospital is wonderful, which helps. The IV starts below her little hand and is taped all the way up to her tiny little elbow. Anyway, this is the first time I've been on all day today. I will try to check in as I can.

She is back home now and feeling better. She's keeping her food down now, so hopefully she'll be back to her old self soon. I'm going up tomorrow with Mom and Dad to spend the afternoon with her so Kari can try to get some things done around the house. Can't wait to see her!

She's doing pretty good now. Her appetite is about back to normal. Soon she can go back on regular whole milk instead of soy milk. She isn't sleeping as well as she did before the hospital stay, but I think that's understandable. They spent the night here last night and she woke up twice during the night and wanted to be held. But she'll get back to her old self soon.

I'm so sorry to hear that Graci was sick and in the hospital. I know what that's like, when Kourtney was 3 weeks old she got RSV and had to be in the hospital for a week. When they put her IV in I just couldn't stand to watch, she was my first, and so my mother had to stay in the room with her when they did it. I hope all is back to normal now. My Cayden has been sick lately too with an ear infection and now his allergies are acting up pretty bad. He's eating like crazy, but he's still lost 2 pounds in the last couple of weeks.

Sorry to hear that. Two pounds is a lot for a little one. I hope those pounds come back soon.
Graci is doing good. She originally lost four pounds, but she's got two of them back now. She acts like a totally different child, too. She was so sad when she was sick...now she's back to her zippy little self again. I hope Cayden is better soon, too.

I'm so glad that Graci is doing better! Reading about her plight made me so sad because I have a baby girl too. She's only 10 months old, but she is so full of life! I remember when she wasn't feeling well. It's the most helpless feeling in the world! All I could do was cry with her. I think that's the hardest part of being a parent, or for anyone close to a young child, is seeing them in pain and be unable to stop it. Thank goodness Graci's okay now!
