Oh my! I was never so surprised as when I unlocked the Coffee Shop door early this morning, and there by the end of the counter, big as you please, was Zurina the Bakery Witch! I have NO idea how she got in, and when I asked her, she just kept stirring that strange cauldron and smiling this slightly wicked, crooked smile. (I know this isn't nice, but she just REALLY is NOT very attractive...bordering on downright SCARY.) Lined up on the counter, side by side, was a whole slew of Pumpkin Chip Surprises!  Each one had a name tag with the following names on them: Devindemel, Krisconcepcion19, Kayos_bunny, Xsunshinelollipopsx, Xbritannie, Autumn_child, Cloakofstars45, and Moreletta. I asked Zurina why she picked those names, and she STILL wouldn't answer. She whipped out a little worn chalkboard, and quickly scratched out a message. She handed it to me, and I must admit I was a bit reluctant to touch it. But I took it and read her message. She said she could "feel the vibes" of these particular members, so they were the last ones to frequent the Coffee Shop. (apparently I'm chopped liver because I sure didn't see a tag with my name on it...but no matter) Before I could comment she snatched the chalkboard out of my hand and squirreled it away somewhere in the folds of her rather..um....tattered and hygenically challenged cloak. So.....eat at your own risk. Actually the Pumpkin Chip Surprises seemed surprisingly fresh and tasty. So maybe there is some special magic in Zurina's old caudron after all. If not, there's always the Healing Springs.  |

Wow I stopped by for coffee and who greeted me at the door? It was none other than  She took out her chalkboard and scrawled a barely legible message that said She was feeling very generous with her baked goods today  a pumpkin pie and  a spooky shake to wash it down with . There was a name tag for each these guild members-cloakofstars45, fairy_tale_girl64, autumn_child, girlgenius1159393151, devindemel, BunnyRabt, dlfreak,cottoncandylips Before I could ask her what they were for she grabbed her chalkboard and rushed out the door, leaving a pile of leaves behind. I quickly cleaned it up so Sadie wouldn't have to when she came in. Please eat carefully you never know what ingredients might be in one of her treats but I think she means well. |

Thanks for the treats, Daisy! (I wonder where Zurina scurried off to. Probably to some dark shop in an alley somewhere that she buys her ingredients. haha)

Even though it's Sunday, I came into the Coffee Shop just before dawn this morning to do inventory and to polish the countertops and mop the floor. Sadie keeps things pretty neat, but I like to add just a little extra sparkle. I was in the storeroom with my clipboard and pen, working away, when I heard a strange noise. It kinda sounded like the little bell that rings when someone comes in the front door, but I knew that door was locked so no one could have possibly entered. I listened for a moment, and then satisfied that things were as they should be, I climbed up on my ladder and resumed counting supplies. I was concentrating intently on the the work at hand when I felt a little tug on the bottom of my shop apron. I looked down, and there in all her questionable finery, was Zurina. Once again she thrust her dusty old streaked chalkboard into my hand. On it was scrawled the words, cookies and marshmallows. I barely had time to read it and then she snatched it out of my hand, grabbed the metal handle of her caudron that she had left behind the last time she was here, and with a snort, disappeared in a puff of rather nasty green smog. I quickly turned on the ceiling fan and opened the door into the back alley to disperse her pungeunt fragrance. Whew! Since I was off the ladder by now, I thought I would try to determine what she meant by cookies and marshmallows. Nothing seemed different in the storeroom, so I walked into the shopfront to see what I could find. Sitting on the counter, beautifully wrapped in cellophane and tied with a huge orange satin ribbon, was a sizeable basket filled with Pumpkin Cookies! Next to that was a big white box. I opened the box and inside I found dozens of smiley faced Ghost Marshmallows! Zurina's chalkboard was also on the counter, so I picked it up. I had to read in a hurry because as I read the words were disappearing in a magical sparkle! It said, "Please give cookies and marshmallows to the guild members who have been around lately. This is my last treat and I won't be back until next Halloween. I'm expected back at the Swamp by nightfall. Zurina." I no sooner read the last words than the entire chalkboard vanished in a small explosive "POOF!" Glittery sparkles drifted in the air and disappeared. All the treats remained, however, so now I have the task of delivering them. If you don't receive your treats for some reason (possibly tired feet could be one..haha) please let me know. I think we have seen the last of Zurina for a while! |

Seems like some hot chocolate might be a good idea to add to the menu. So I looked back through the last two pages of visitors to the shop, and found the following names: Moreletta, Autumn_child, Devendemel, Fairy_tale_girl64, Xsunshinelollipopsx, Cloakofstars45, Daisy1961, Fullbloom720, Krisconcepcion19, Xbritannie, and Kayos_bunny.
