well we have been working hard on cleaning up and clearing out our house...drew really has worked hard the last two days cleaning his room....lol..it was a pig sty!!!!! me, i have been working on taking wall paper down out of my bathroom...the previous owners had this old wallpaper up that was brittle and she just did a tacky job..over lapped and cut paper badly and had some pasted to the tiles....so i am having to pull off the top layer by hand...then i have a steamer but it was easier for me to soak the paper/glue with hot water and let it soak for a little while....then take a putty spatula and scrape parts off....its been a long process but i have to get it done for sure by a week and a half....we are having our upstairs bathrooms remodeled to about 90 percent....after i took down the wallpaper i realized they put it up to hide flaws and defects or horrible home fix it's that weren't very well done....i had wanted to paint the walls but now thinking i might need to put up waincot paneling...we put in a new toilet in my bathroom...but the base of the 50 year old toilet i replaced the base wasn't the same size and shape as the old one....well now there is a hole in the floor..because the previous owners put new floor down..but instead of taking the toilet out and putting it under the toilet they floored around it! but we also discovered the had floored over the old floor they had before this one! and i also discovered they had patched a place up by the water head in my shower...i have no idea what the contractor will say about that..if it needs fixing too! but also hoping they will either rebuild me a new bathroom counter or us buy one...
the kids bathroom..well the floor started turning black around it...and we figured mold was growing under it..well there is a leak behind the wall..but the contractor said he probably can cut out a section without tearing up the whole tile in the bathtub/shower and we can do something decorative to make it look like it was intentional and save us from replacing all the tile throughout on all walls....but we are gonna have all their fixtures replaced, new toilet, new floor.....
we have been clearning out closets and i swear i have enough clothes that if i have a yard sale, i think i can sell a ton and still have enough to have a yard sale every week til the end of the year! i haven't gotten rid of any of their clothes since the boys before graeson was born.....lol that was 7 years ago and now her stuff too! i did have one yard sale when graeson was a little girl but it didn't pan out..i forgot to post in the paper it would be an indoor yardsale..i saw tons of cars passing and then i remembered...i think i'll have 3 yard sales then anything left..either do consignment for any of the good stuff or donate it...we have our work cut out for us...and i want to hire someone to come in this summer and clean out my storage room down stairs and organize it....and i have to figure out some way to move furniture around so i can fit some things i am getting from my grandmothers house...i would LOVE to make the screened in porch a sunroom...closed in with air and heat....so i can make it a small den....with a tv and my computer...then my kitchen combo area could be a kitchen and large eating area....because we really don't have a family room....there is no t.v. in this den combo area....we have a living room but its one room i like to keep nice and neat incase i have company and no toys and such..its got a big screen in it....but the kids all have a tv in their room......but it would be nice to have a family area we could spend time together....no i didn't say that! lol ok joking....we do have a finished basement....that is furnished and a tv but we are all kind of spooked about hanging out there..
