As some of you may have noticed, certain furniture items have been deemed as a "(neohome)" item in your inventory. This is almost certainly in preparation for Neohomes 2.0, which have been in the works for the past couple of months now. There was also previously an option to put said items into your "Neohome Workshed." (It has since been removed.) Although we can't be sure what the workshed is, it's most likely a carbon copy of the Closet, but instead of housing wearables for your pets, it will house the furniture items you'd like to place into your Neohome. www.jellyneo.net/index.php?comments=3184

neat... i hope it will allow you to go into a room and be able to look at it as your standing in the room instead of only aerial views and also would love to walk through doors instead of going out each room to enter the next rooms..i'll check out the link you posted i also wish they'd scale down room sizes...like if you wanted to build a bathroom you could do two but half sized..they'd still have to be connected but its hard to fill the bathrooms to look to scale and not be so empty with the sizes they are currently...another gripe is they need to work on the scale of pieces...some sofas are huge..others are tiny..well we've discussed that before but there is alot they can do

I guess I should start building my neohome again. I demolished my one room and garden a while back lol. Now I just have an empty lot!

In a way I'm sort of scared by this new neohome thing. As I do agree there are a lot of reasons why they should be working on the neohomes, I also know what they did with the whole "customise" option, and, even though they "say" it doesn't unbalance the game, it kind of does... I'm really starting to miss the days when neopets wasn't just being advertised to small kids, and adhered to a broad variety of age groups. I mean, I still LOVE neopets, and maybe I'm just whining, but it's become so commercial... sell-out is I guess the word I'm looking for. But, there's no stopping the inevitable, so I'm prepared for whatever neohomes 2.0 will offer. Come what may.

now i agree with you too alien its become a very commercialized place and its more about what they can sell..and i can almost bet you are able to get nicer neohome items with the neocash...that also is wearable...which means it will disappear eventually as do the clothing items...thats like item codes....well our walmart doesn't sell neocards anymore..nor do we have a limited so...we can't easily get items with codes...nor do we have a target..walmart is paying off the town to keep target and lowes is also doing the same to keep out competitors...the old walmart store is vacant but they still pay the rent so no other store of their nature..who would need a shop that big can come in and take money from them....so we can't get neocash easily either...i have a lot of issues i don't like about neopets although the general principle i do enjoy but i think its really gotten away from the childs game and more drawing the adults...which is why its able to be profitable for them

Ugh...I have to mutter with ya, alienfreak. While I'm looking forward to Neohomes 2.0 and hope that they really did take care of the eternally nagging nuances of the current homes like the size of furniture, they are verging on trying too hard to perfect the site & make money, and it's just ruining it. Simplicity is always more chic...and fun!!
I do enjoy dressing up my pets in their wearables, but it also bothers me that nowadays to stay on top of the game you've gotta buy Neocash cards and plushies w/ virtual prizes and whatnot.

I haven't ever bothered with neocash. I got the free 150 that they gave away, but that was the extent. It goes against everything I stand for as an individual. I just really hope they don't do that with the neohomes, because the customize tool was a completely new thing, neohomes have been a long-standing tradition on neopets. It just wouldn't be right. By the way, fairy, southern hospitality only applies to those people who don't first do something to negate the privilege. Or, at least, that's what I always tell myself. So, go crazy on those trading post people/TNT emailers. We won't blame you. lol.

A classic scene. THAT'S the reason they say never to make a southern woman angry. lol

well i think the generalization of us "little southern belles" makes the general public deem us to be viewed as dainty....oh...scarlett ohara's...when most of us are more like elle may clampett...can scrap with even the fella's....rassle a few bears too lol...or the melaine carmichaels....or susan sugarbakers...even from the top of the heap to the hillbillies...we have a little gusto when we need to..but how did i get off the subject of neohomes...i tend to be dingy... i just hope its not a money gimmick..they have enough of those already going on....

Like you said, I hope the changes are for the advancement of the site, and not simply for profit.
I'm actually having to redo my neohome. I messed it up a while back, so now I'm demolishing it and moving somewhere else. I've been at Mystery Island for six years. It's time for a new change of scenery.
