i don't know. i've always wanted a tattoo but i don't have any yet because i had a really hard time deciding what to get. i've had ideas but as soon as everything happened it just made sense to get the peace sign, and i just found out i'm getting it yesterday because someone else told me they're going to buy it for me ... but i don't know where it should go at all, i'm thinking my right shoulder blade.

i wouldn't want to put a tattoo someplace too noticeable because i work in retail (at a hallmark store) and i plan on working some sort of secretary job for a couple years until i'm done with college so i want to be able to look nice without sweating all the time, lol

Darn, there's some really good artists in my area that my friends go to =/. One of them has a flaming phoenix on her entire right ribcage that she had done a while ago. I'm going in with her soon because she's adding stuff to it, I think I'm gonna get something done when I go in with her. Probably the hello kitty stormtrooper I posted earlier in this thread =p.

what i would do is pick a design you really really want. that u like, and hold on to that art for 6 months if you can. and if you still like the tattoo you wanna get, go for it. that way you know you wont get sick of it after like a month or somthing

Yes, because once it's there, it's there. Some of the old tattoos using the older ink formulas can be removed, but the newer inks really hold in there. Mine looks almost like right after I got it, and I've been in my tanning bed (I don't overdo it though) without putting sunscreen on it for a few years now, because it has the stronger ink formula. You really want to make sure you have the design you like. People that go in to a tattoo place and just pick something off the wall or out of a book just slay me. I mean, how much thought did THAT take? If you've had your design for a long time and you're sure, then it must be the one for you. Or if you know approximately what you want, and the artist has talent, he/she can draw it until it looks the way you thought of it in your mind. That's what I did with my dragon and flowers. I bet Jason redrew the wings five or six times before they were really what I wanted. And I wanted my dragon to look sweet, so he gave him a little smile. I know...I'm such a dwebe sometimes. lol But I don't really like mean looking ones.

those are good tips for the tattoo idea thing, sanitize and bunny, i don't know if i'll ever get a second one but i'm set on the first one i want, and i'm trying to think of some way i can do something original because i just want a pretty simple peace sign with a heart in the center of it and i might get it filled in rainbow or not, i have to figure it out, but it'll look just like the bumper sticker on my car that one of her other friends made and handed out to everyone. Bunny, you said the same thing my parents said when i told them i was finally getting a tattoo! lol.. once it's there it's there, but i feel like i'll never regret it because it's in remembrance.

Very good point bunny, my friend that got the phoenix kinda regrets getting it because it wasn't exactly what she wanted, it was more of what the artist wanted to do. so I've been thinking about the hello kitty stormtrooper for almost a full year now and it's still what I want, and this is the first time I haven't changed my mind so I think I have found what I want =). And everyone I know that has gotten a tattoo done always goes back for another, it gets addicting =p.
hmm for some reason the pic didn't show up so here's another pic of what i want:

thanks sanitize! once I'm sure about getting it done I'm gonna get it done by the same person a few of my friends went to, all of their tats turned out really well so I trust that artist. the pic i posted above is actually a painting this artist made so it will be cool to have a work of art on me =).
