I decided to let my little girl have her own account, that way we'll both have an empty slot for a lab rat later. But when I went to transfer her elephante over to her new account, it said that owner isn't old enough to adopt this pet. Does anyone know if Neopets will allow her to adopt it if I sign the parental permission form? How old do you have to be to adopt a pet? It didn't say anything about age in the transfer rules. By the way, here's her new pet on her very own account: Flutterby_Dream Update:Oh! I just googled the complete rules, and I guess the account you're transferring to has to be at least 4 months old....so I guess it doesn't have anything to do with my daughter's age, lol. But anyway, isn't her Uni cute?

I think its 4-6 months actually. They do that so that new players don't adopt good pets and then if that new player loses interest in Neopets and stops playing the pet is stuck there forever.

You have to be a certain number of months old on your account to adopt a pet.
