I was wondering what everyone thinks about doing a red and green plushie drive? Some of them are very inexpensive. If we decide to do that would you like to run it, Guadian?

The way we have done it before is that we all collect the most inexpensive plushies we can find, usually red or green squiggles, Chombys, etc. Then we put them in trades for you and you bid a junk item and put them in your SDB until you're ready to do the money tree donation. We decide on a deadline for you to do that, and everyone has to have their plushies to you by then. Then you just do a quick stock and donate them all at once.
Some members don't like giveaways at the money tree, but I like being charitable, plus people notice when a big giveaway is done. I need to check with dl about using the slcg_drives account. That way at least the guild initials are seen.
I do have people notice sometimes when I do a big donation, and they will neomail asking different things. It's a good opportunity to invite them to join.
So I'll send dl a message and see what I can find out. In the meantime, everyone start collecting red and green plushies...the cheapest you can find.

I've collected some plushies already, but I just stuck them in my sdb until we hear from dl if we should or shouldn't use the slcg_drives account. As soon as I know we can start putting up trades. Otherwise, you would have to move all those plushies from your account to that one. When I hear back from dl I'll post here and in the meantime everyone can start stocking up plushies and putting them in our sdb until we're ready for them.

thank you all for the offer of helping me...in the past i have found it easier if one person bids on trades and stuff...i am online most of the time so collect those plushies and let give the the money tree thousands of plushies for the holidays

I pmed Devin about this, but I'll post here too. Of course we can do a Secret Santa. I know one year Fairy and I divided the list of people and each took half, so if you two want to do that, it's fine. Or if just one or the other of you want to run it since we don't have a huge list of active people that would be ok too. I will let you two decide what you want to do. You can kinda look at the past thread and see how we've done it in the past, or if you have a different approach that is fine too.

actually i use to run the secret santa every year and i think i was the one who got it started..i could be wrong...but seems like if it was done they had quit...but i ran it every year first with lindsey helping me then bunny last year helping me....it was fun fun! not sure how the gifts are being delivered but it would have been fun to try and guess who our secret santas were
