Hey guys,
Need any and all info for buying a used car and buying one relatively soon.
I was in a car accident a few weeks ago (not my fault but the lady that hit me is a lawyer and since there's no witnesses who came forward I'm pretty much tangled in a he-said she-said and since my insurance is pretty much only minimum liability as required by law I'm pretty much screwed since my car likely has more damage than it's worth.)
ANYWAY, I was driving our only other car and as I was driving to the hospital to pick up my mom the timing chain on the car bust which apparently is a pretty big deal to fix. We've already put so much into that rinkadink car I can't see putting anymore into it so now I'm completely car-less.
I've been using a rental car this week to get to work (I'm under 25—by three months—so I'm being shafted with a $20/day fee on top of the rental cost which takes my Chevy Aveo rental to $56 a day including insurance add-on) so it looks like I'm going to need a car and need one quick. Any ideas on where to look or what to look for? I was planning on buying a new car in a few years time so I'm looking for something to last me the next five or so years and I'm looking to spend not much more than $2,000.
I've been looking at www.autotrader.com and finding some stuff that looks half way decent, just not sure what the heck to do... any and all advice kindly welcomed!
