it's 1000 different items in your sdb, a pain in the rear end sometimes, but at least tnt changed it so that you can still have more than one of the same item and it isn't changing the number listed... used to it counted the exact number of items in your sdb whether they were different or not, so you had to make sure that you didn't have any duplicates or it messed it all up, now you don't have to worry about that.... a good way to figure it out, especially since they added the search by category feature, is to go to neoitems.net and select a category, like island merchandise is pretty cheap, spooky and gross foods, and grooming, then have that open with the list at the same time you've got the list in your sdb open of those same categories, and buy what you need

Anyone currently working on this one? I was a couple months ago, then gave up and sold about 300 items. Now I'm starting it again...slightly more organized this time. I found a complete list online (http://www.cloudneo.com/packrat.shtml) so I'm going through it just buying the items. I printed it out and am writing how much I paid for each thing next to it, so I can have an idea about how to price it when I'm ready to resell it (hopefully) after I get the avie! I figure if I spend time each night buying about 50 items, I'll have it in about 3 weeks.

and be broke lol!!! just make sure to get freebies at the fishing place...too bad you don't wait til xmas...then you get advent calender items that will take care of about 50 items then fishing vortex.

I think i'm going to go ahead and try to get this again. I'm doing pretty much the same thing as you mdith by going by the list and just buying items cheap that i dont already have. Haha it will probably still take me forever to get this but oh well its still fun  |

When I went about trying to get items for this avatar, I bought random items from neopian shops that I didn't already have. Some were cheap and some weren't.  Lol what a mistake! Then someone said about this one list and I went to that and just bought items from that pack rat list. It was so much easier then.  |

Well, I figure if I can pay an average of 50 NPs per item (some'll be more, some less, of course), that's only 50,000 NPs. Plus it's not like it'll be totally gone...I'll just resell the items after I'm done with them. I've found some really good deals already (probably just a bunch of newbies who don't know how much their stuff is really worth!). So far I've spent 3,043NP on 63 items which comes out to an average of about 48 NPs per item. Not too bad, so far! |

You're doing really good, mdith. When I went to random shops on Neopets to buy items, I tried to buy the cheapest items I could find but sometimes I just figured 'Oh, what the heck' and bought stuff for 400-500 np each. |

that's a new one to me too, then again, i'm on another stinking faerie quest for the light faerie (woops need to post) and i keep forgetting about it until i want to check prices on something, like the stuff i got from the deserted tomb, i don't know what it's all worth forgot to add that you can borrow some of my stuff if you need to |

There are currently 1000 items in my SDB. That means I got the pack rat avatar!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Woohoo!!
I had about 700 yesterday evening and then just decided to go for it and finish the thing! So I stayed up until 2 in the morning buying stuff and being banned from the shop wizard and the super shop wizard multiple times. I had 900 by the end of the night and then I just got the last 100 or so this morning! Now for massive sales in my shop! After I'm "unbanned" that is...hehe

Lol way to go mdtih! Congrats. It was like that for me too..when I noticed I had like a hundred or so left it felt like the avatar was very close within reach so I bought and bought nonstop till I hit 1000. Then after that I was so relieved finally...time to just sell! |

aww, thanks fairy! i've been working throughout most of the day pulling stuff out of my sdb and pricing it...I've been banned from the wizards more times than I can count by this point and I still have about 500 things left in my sdb! I'm down to toys and food now, though, got rid of the other stuff first. well, back to the grind  |
