They're just kind of fun to collect. At least that's what it is about for me. I mean, I love trying to get as many of them as I can. And the challenge of getting as many as possible. I *think* there may be some sort of trophy for getting a certain amount or something...but I could be wrong. I just heard someone saying something about that one day on the neopet chat boards, so...someone please correct me if this is not true!!!  |

I agree Becky...for me its just the fun and challenge of getting as many avies as I can. And you are right about the trophy. Its the NeoBoards Avatar Collector trophy. The scores are listed along with your other game scores. |

I know you can get the Avater Collecter Avatar if you have over so much... somethign like 150.
I think they are fun to collect, cause they are changeable and you can pick them to fit your mood.
I don't go for ones that are SUPER expensive unless you can get it for really cheap... And I don' tdo the battledome ones either.
But I like collecting them just cause... Its just another fun part of Neopets.

I just really like to collect avatars. It's fun to see avatars being released that I really like and then try to get them. I also want to get on the high score board for avatars some day and get like an avatar and a trophy for having a lot of avies.  |

i think it's kindof a sign of seniority, a mark of status or importance...
it's also a goal to work towards that keeps the tedium from neopets.... they've tried to cover all the bases to keeping people on neopets and involved in it... neopets doesn't want you to come on like once a month, restock your shop, maybe play a couple of games and then leave for another month... they want you on every single day for as long as you can be on... that's why they have so many different things for you... once you've gotten all the avies for lookups, you can start on the games, but everyone gets tired of doing nothing all day long but playing games, so they throw in some other stuff as well, here, play in the battledome, or submit some stories or if you can draw graphics like dl, well, do that and send it in to us.... you know

I just like knowing that I have a choice of all those cute avies. I also just lifke knowing that I have found so many of them. ;D
