There is a new game called Underwater Fishing!

Description: Welcome to the underwater fishing cavern! This trapped air pocket has created an underwater lake with all kinds of strange and wondrous sea creatures, as well as some... other interesting things. Take a place on the jetty and start fishing! But be patient. You might have to wait a while between catches.

Then it says (your active pet's name)'s fishing skill is (whatever their current fishing skill is). Your pet's fishing skill starts out as 1.
Beneath that there is a button that says Reel In Your Line. I decided to play the game, so I clicked that.
This is what I got:
You reel in your line and get...


Waterfish!

Your pet's fishing skill increases to 2!

Then there is a button that says Cast Your Line Again. I clicked that, and it takes you back to the original page with the Reel In Your Line button. I clicked the reel button and got:
Nothing! Maybe you should be more patient.

Then I checked my inventory to see if I actually received a Waterfish from the first reel in, and I did! So basically this game is you reel in your line and whatever you get is what you get to keep, and your pet's fishing skill can increase. And it doesn't cost any NP!

Whoops...no I didn't...I got a Breadfish. Otherwise it was the same.

old rotten right boot, old rotten left sandal, broken bag of neopoints, and since uni's on loan for the avatar, i'll fish with her when i get her back, spinx is the only one that increased to level 2 though, and i've heard that you can fish every 2 hours, but that's unconfirmed, are those fish petpets or toys or what?

Lol you can fish with each pet.

I clicked on my Waterfish in my inventory, and it says it's food. In the dropdown list you can choose to feed it to a pet.

i wonder if you can feed one of those to a jetsam for the avie?

only if it's listed as an aquatic petpet will it work for the jetsam chomp avatar

They're not listed as petpets though, or aquatic petpets. I think all the fish you catch are listed as food, because it's like real fishing - you catch a fish and you cook it and eat it.

Hah, let's just hope some of them are petpets. That would definitely be cool. But I doubt it.

i think i have figured out how you get the avie...i bet your pet has to be at a certain fishing level!

I went on the Neopets avatar chat board yesterday and created a topic, asking if anyone knew how to get the fishing avatar...and it hasn't been confirmed yet, but most people replied to my topic saying you have to catch a giant squid or something. And some mentioned that you could only do that if your pet has a high fishing level.

i figured it had to do with levels. but i had heard about the possiblities of the squid but yeah the two together might be the key

Yeah, I think that may be it since so many people are talking about that being the way to unlock the avatar.

Anywho, I went fishing with all of my pets and just thought I'd share what I got:
A waterfish, giant brown kelp, and giant green kelp. I tried to go fishing with my last pet but for some reason it said 'Nothing! Maybe you should be more patient,' when I hadn't even fished with her before.

yeah same thing with my first pet i tried they wouldn't let her fish lol nor last night on my second go around
but i did fish twice yesterday..i think its every 12 hours your able to
