Congrats everyone on their good tiding. My husband was going to have to leave on the 12th of January for 6 months instead of the 28th like orginally planned, but they changed it back so he's leaving on Jan. 28th. I don't want him to go at all, but the 28th is better than the 12th.

This has kinda been an ongoing "yay" for me, but I don't think I mentioned it. Art has quit smoking!!!!!!! It's been a little over two months now, and he still is struggling with it but he isn't cheating. No cigarettes!!!!! He never smoked inside the house, or in my car or anything, so I didn't really get any second hand smoke, but I worried about him constantly. (especially since I lost my brother to lung cancer) So this is one of the very best "yays" I can think of. I'm so proud of him, because I know it's hard for him.

I GOT MY BABY BACK!!!! they tried to put up a fight, but there was nothing they could do when I sent johnny with a notarized statement to act on my behalf in picking Cailet and her belongings up. They tried everything they could think of to stop him, but they didn't have a leg to stand on. Everything was legal and straight to the point. I wanted Cailet and all of her belongings, especially her birth certificate, shot record, and social security card. The cops did have to get involved but that's when they finally realized there wasn't one flipping thing they could do to stop us. It took them completely by surprise and they couldn't stop it. So Cailet's home and after they reported me to the child abuse/neglect hotline for failing to provide medical care, he had to take her to the E.R. because she's been having stomach cramps really bad and is sick to her stomach and they never even tried to take her to the dr at all. and they cut my baby's hair!!!!! It was so long, to the middle of her back and so gorgeous and they went and chopped it all off shoulder length... I can't say what I really want to call them because now she looks like a mushroom head, though at least it's not as short as mom had mine growing up (chin length) but I was so adamant about cailet having long hair and was so proud of how beautiful it was and they went and chopped it off just to spite me.... thanks tanzi for filling me in on that one, by the way, it was a huge shock when she walked in the door but she's home now

I'm glad she's home too, Lindsey. I'm also glad Johnny did that for you. I'm sure it was a nightmare. I would have liked to have been the fly on the wall for that one though, just to see them feel what it is like on the other end of the deal, after what they've put you through.
And I cannot BELIEVE they had the audacity to cut her hair. That's just awful. But like you said, at least it isn't really short.
Hope her tummy is better by now. I bet she will relax more now that she is home. That could have been part of her stomach problems.

Wow congrats to art for having the strength and courage to quit smoking!!! I'm going to try again to when I find something for a stress outlet, lol! Linds, I'm so thankful you got cailet back!! Congrats!! and that really stinks they chopped off her hair, but like you said atleast they didn't cut it any shorter than they did! I hope she gets to feeling better, I can't believe they accused you of all that and yet when she isn't feeling well they don't bother to do anythingto help her. UGH that just furiates me

I'm very proud of Art for quitting smoking!! It takes a lot of effort and willpower, I'm sure, coming from someone who doesn't know what it's like. The world seems to be taking a turn, too...whereas smoking used to be very common, most everyone is backing farther and farther away from it.
Good luck, Star, in quitting as well. I think it would be great for you to find an alternative that would help you avoid it more effectively.

congrats to art for quitting, I know just how hard it is... even though I have never completely quit... when I spent the month of april in the hospital i went nuts... but I smoke menthols, so not only do i have to kick the nicotine, but i have to kick the menthol too, which is more addictive than even the nicotine
i really hope you can succeed trish... not only does it save a small fortune but it's sooo much better, everything will have more flavor and better smell but no more smoker's cough first thing in the morning not to mention non-smokers won't think you smell like an old ashtray
as to cailet, sorry to say, but apparently my parents' neglect caused her a really bad urinary tract infection... and they called the neglect hotline on ME!!! the nerve of some people
we took her to the E.R. and they put her on some antibiotics that she has to take twice daily until it's all gone, but since she started taking it, her stomach hasn't been hurting her at all which I am very thankful for, our only problem is that she is literally gagging and doing everything possible to keep it down cuz it tastes so raunchy
my poor baby
and I totally wish I was a fly on the wall when it all went down, tanzi said too bad he didn't have a camera and I totally agree with that... it's about time the law sided with me on something when it should have a long time before but didn't because it was easier to ignore it, this time they had no choice in the matter and I just loved it

I just told Art how everyone in the guild has been saying such good things about his quitting. He said, Yeah, everybody but me....he's still having such a hard time. I reminded him that he doesn't cough anymore, and he admitted that was true. What is really annoying is that he didn't smoke at all until he met his exwife, and she got him started. She still smokes and Nikki is around that all the time. Her stepdad smokes too. I hate it but nothing I can do about that.
Poor Cailet...I hope she is feeling better. I'm sure it will take a while to undo the emotional damage that they did...I'm almost sure they didn't present you in a favorable light to her. That's so wrong. I'll be sending good thoughts and prayers your way.

Well, I've got some more news about Cailet that isn't good, but I can't post it publicly in the offchance of all visitors that read these boards. Suffice it to say, I have to be very careful what Cailet is given for her urinary tract infection because of what is currently in her system.

Sorry for not telling you about Cailet's hair before, linds. After her birthday party, we got so busy talking about your stupid mother and what her and mike were saying and doing that i totally forgot to tell you about her hair and then after time went on, it just slipped my mind. And I also wasn't sure if it was them that cut it or if it was done before she came down. I'm really sorry about that, I can only imagine your shock when you saw it. I'm so glad that she's home now. I bet the girls are glad to have their sister home! I hope your parents get everything that's coming to them!

Well, I'm the govenor on my dorm's floor next semester. I just received my postcard telling me I have to go back next week Thursday. That means there's probably orientation/training on Friday and Saturday. I'm sort of excited I guess, probably a little more nervous

Yeah, it's good, because it will greatly increase my chances of getting in as a community advisor in fall semester. That will really help me out expense-wise because my room and meal plan will be free. I guess I'm just a little nervous because I've never really been involved with my hall before, so this is kinda new. But it'll be good for me

School starts back tomorrow I'm excited because I'm taking 3 web/html classes and an intro to computer science class other two are core -math and english. The only thing I don't really like is that I have all that time between classes but thats ok, that just gives me time to work on my homework or plan my classes and syllabi out in my planner

Well, I got through my first day of classes. So far so good. Some might involve a bit more reading than what I'm normally used to, but I think I can handle it. I also had training for my govenor position last weekend. It also went very well, everyone on staff and government are really nice. I think it should be a good semester.
