after i get in touch with dl on what guidelines he wants to use in secret santa this year we will start taking names for those wanting to participate. i will go back and see what we've used in last years to use as a template on how we ran it.....

this was what was figured out last year...
you need to atleast spend 2000 nps....most members have a hard time keeping it at this amount but we need to cap off our spending around 5000nps....this helps younger less experienced neopians be able to participate..but last year dl said that if you exceed this limits you won't be punished too severly lol....actually his exact words on last years spending caps were....
"Well the cap is 5k but please feel free to break that rule. Also, 2000 is the minimum value we ask but if you can't afford that, we certainly understand."
i think his decision came about when a few members started randomly throwing sharp objects at him...joking dl lol
i am going to need someone to help me split the list..bunny has helped me the past two years and if you want to bunny you can this year as well. if you want to help i would love your help. when we get closer to buying time we will split up list..then you contact those on your list and i will on my list and tell them who to buy for.
so now...all you have to do is post you want to participate and you're on the list....i'll contact you after giving all members the change to sign up....you must be active on neopets and the boards to participate and dedicated in buying for the person your given. so make sure if you want certain items you create your wish list already started in neopets general and lets get into the holiday spirit!!!!

Basically the prizes SHOULD be about 2000 NP in value but please feel free to spend more than that or if you can't afford it, spend less.
I wonder if we should rework our Secret Santa a bit and make it conform more with Neo rules... after all... entering this as it currently is is promising something in return for participating which is against Neo rules.
Maybe we could rework this as something like our Halloween theme weeks with the Ghost of Guildly past except instead for this we can have the Ghost of Guildly Present. Get it Guildly Present?  Basically run it the same way as our Secret Santa but without prizes and make that part "optional." Or I mean I guess it could be optional, sending a nice seasons greeting to a member is also a nice gesture as well and sending a prize too could be their own decision.

I'll participate, Fairy. Also, just letting ya know, I'd be more than glad to help out with the list if you guys need it for any reason...so just holler! Are you serious, Dl? I certainly don't think we ought to break the rules here, especially since we know it's probably against the rules...I think your suggestion sounds like it'll work...and also that way, ANY guild member can participate regardless of whether they have the np to spend...So if they really just want to send someone a yuletide greeting they can be involved. |

lol grrrrr sometimes i hate TNT making things so "rule" oriented.. i know without rules you have chaos but its only a game for heaven sakes! but the rules exist ....so we must obide! thanks for pointing that out dl well yes we can send yuletide greetings but if we "choose" give out presents to others its perfectly ok... not prizes by any means cause we exchange neopet gifts every year for birthdays and christmas ...but so my secret santa person i get will just be added to my buddies list i normally buy for which might be another fun idea if we have a gift giver job for the holiday theme week....santas naught or nice list...not that any of our members are naughty but...we could pick on members like i did for halloween where i gave tricks or treats too...so that the naughty gifts would be the same value as a nice gift just not as "pretty" and mention on santa nice list today is...and tisk tisk so in so has been naughty.....well i think its cute...but i hope no one would be offended...i don't think anyone was by my tricks or treats..i hope! not sure if capt will treat us again this year with her 12 days of christmas...but thats always a major treat and something to look forward too! |
