Well, I'm heading back to school today. Maybe I'll be a little more enthusiastic about it when I get settled in again. I'll probably be around some more this weekend and we'll see how things play out after that. I do think my schedule will be easier than last semester. I had 16 credits last semster, plus 20 hours of observation. This semester I have 15 credits and 5 hours of observation, I think this will be a big improvement. I'm going to miss being home though lol, and all the free time that went a long with it.

My husband left for seven months on friday. He won't be back until Aug. 25th and even then it's only for a week or so and then he leaves again until the beginning of November, so I'll be all alone for pretty much this whole year, which stinks. I will still have college and our business (which I have to run all by myself, I am not exactly sure how to do that) to keep me busy. Anyway, just wanted to vent a little. I have to catch up on school considering the last three weeks I have been in school I have done just enough to get by because I have been spending time with my husband. So...I will be on, but not every day like I used to =, at least not until I catch up with schoolwork. Oh and I am so sorry for being late on my stamp giveaway for this month.

that's horrible kris.. I can't believe he's going to be gone so much
when does his service end and he comes home for good?
also, what kind of a business do y'all have? I'm sorry there's nothing I can do to help, but you can call me anytime you feel lonely

That would suck being away from your loved one for that long. I know when my friend was out working for like 3 weeks at a time I missed him like crazy. But abscence makes the heart grow fonder. Good luck with you school work... I know what that is like:P

Oh Kris...that's just awful. It's bad for both of you. I know you don't want him gone so long and I just know he hates being away from you. It makes it hard when you have to do everything by yourself. Art was in the Army Reserve when we met, and just having him gone a weekend each month, and then two weeks in the summer was dreadful. I can't imagine such a long seperation. I'm glad you have college, and like you said, you have your business which will be challenging and keep you busy. Any chance your parents can come for a visit in a couple of months or so? That would help break up the time for you. Is he a career man or will he be getting out after this term? It's got to get better. At least you are in one of the most beautiful places in the entire world. And you won't have to deal with snow and ice like we do here in lovely Indiana. Anytime you feel like venting you just go right ahead. We'll all listen and sympathize.

Please don't feel you have to apologize for running late on your stamp giveaway, kris. It should be the least of your worries, doing something extra around here when you have so much to take care of outside of Neopets. I hope your business doesn't pose too many problems for ya...and with school, I can only imagine how busy you may be.
Knowing you, though, I have confidence that you can make it all work...I admire you..tending to all aspects of the homefront while your husband is away.

Thanks everyone for your support. My husband will be back Aug. 25 at the earilest, it might be even later than that though, he just doesn't know yet. He has 3 years left in his current enlistment at which he will have hit his 10 year mark. He doesn't want to stay in the Navy so we are trying to explore other options. Oh and he picks orders in March to decide where we are going next- we have no idea at this point. At the end of March next year I will have finished my bachelor's degree (which I will be so excited, I am so tired of school ), but when he gets back from deployment whether that's at the end of Aug. or whenever we want to start trying to have a family. So we are just looking at other options besides the Navy. He has an Associate's Degree right now and I think he is going to try to go for his bachelor's but I don't know. He were hoping to really get our business off the ground so that he would not even have to think about reenlisting and could just run the business full time, but if that doesn't have then a job that pays at least as much (more would be great) as he got in the Navy would be great. Lol....I didn't mean to tell you my whole life story or anything. I guess what I am trying to say is that a lot of decisions need to be made soon and we just want to make the right ones, so if you remember will you please pray for us? Thank you. Oh I forgot to add one tihng my mom is going to be able to come visit me at the end of April for a couple of weeks.

I tell you what, I'm so fed up with H&R Block it's pathetic. I've used them to file my taxes every single year since 96 because I've always needed that rapid refund. With mine and Tobin's (not to mention Tanzi and Tanner's birthdays) all being in February, I needed the extra funds to help out really bad this time of year. Well, every year they have managed to mess something up and have tried telling me that I couldn't do one thing that I was on my taxes. Basically, they're trying to tell me how to do my taxes and then I have to tell them how to do them, as if I wouldn't know how to do taxes, I used to do taxes for people.
Either way, I've always done my taxes myself, so I knew there was nothing wrong with it and just to make sure I'd get the most back, then I would take it in and all they had to do was act like a secretary and enter the information into the computer and such. I was always charged less since they didn't have to prepare my taxes, just e-file them.
this year, I figured up our taxes. I played around with the numbers (legally) to get the maximum refund back since Johnny had self-employment income. He should have gotten a 1099 but you don't have to have one to claim the income. The IRS will never get mad at you for claiming income that you did have, they get mad if you don't claim it. I also didn't get W-2's from 2 companies but I made less than 1500 so it was optional if those companies wanted to send them to me in the first place.
They tried telling me that they couldn't file our taxes without me having W-2s. Bull!!! That's why it says on line 7 write the full amount of your earned income and then off to the side write the amount not included on W-2's and put HSH.
This woman refused to include my income in the taxes. Then she turned around and filed for a homestead tax deduction. OMG!!! Then I had another W-2 from state taxes received back that put us right up in the maximum range for the highest EIC back... we would have had 4536 back because our income fell within the 11,300 - 16,800 range which is where the highest on the EIC was from. She wouldn't use the W-2 from my state taxes which dropped us down and then used some other crap that kept us from getting close to 1,000 bucks back!!!
I'm so ticked off, I get to do another stinking amended form (which I loathe more than anything) because I didn't go in to argue with her. I had it all filled out and ready to go and Johnny took it in. She did it and made it sound so awesome to him, then he brought me the papers back to sign and returned them to her.
He didn't give one flying flip that they ripped us out of over 1000 because we were getting 800 right then and another 1800 a couple of days later and then we're getting almost 2000 back from state. So what?!?
uggg, I need to stop.

Criminy. That woman sounds like a complete idiot. I swear, they train these people for a couple of weeks and then set them loose on the public. If most people only knew they could do their taxes exactly the same (in most cases better) than those fly by night people, they would be amazed. I know why you went..you want the rapid refund and you can't get that on your own. But most people actually think the HR Block people know more than they do. I've used TaxCut for years, and I KNOW I do a more thorough job than they do. BTW, Lindsey...next year take all the kids old clothes and toys to Goodwill, get receipts, and use Deduction Pro. It is crazy what the government will allow for things. In some cases it allowed more than I paid for the thing new!!! It makes a HUGE difference in our refund. It's a bit timeconsuming, because you have to put in each item individually, but it automatically tells you the value, and it's an H&R Block program that zips right into taxcut, or you could print it out and take it with you when you go in. Johnny thinks money grows on trees still, right?

Johnny thinks money grows on trees still, right? I would gladly do that except that all of the clothes I keep for the next in line... I've got a long time before I'll have a bunch of clothes that none of them can wear anymore, and I used to do taxes for a living... I swear some people are total idiots. Every time I go in there I have to tell them how to do their jobs and the bad part is that I've already done all the work for them and then they always try to argue with me about what's legal and not. and yes, johnny thinks it grows on trees or at least that we have a never-ending supply because he just keeps right on spending, the first thing the idiot did was call up his mommy, use the rest of the minutes on his phone, add another 25 dollars after using most of the minutes on mine too, and we both have to renew on the 14th... so then I was smart enough not to put more time on it because then I would pay for the time and the 80 dollars for my regular bill and he's going to upgrade to the same plan as me, that's another 80 bucks added to the 25... idiot he went and paid off a bunch of his fines and such because he had hot checks out everywhere and after he used my checking account for a bunch that caused me to be in the negatives, now his is in the clear and I'm still stuck trying to take care of mine... not one of our actual bills was paid - he decided that now he's got the money to go to the dr.... I thought over my dead rotting corpse he wants to get a motor cycle too... I started hunting for a blunt petoot again what do I want to do? I want to pay all of our bills, I need to still pay the deposit on my house because HUD never would, they got the application to do it and then denied getting it, I sent it 3 different times and they never got it and then the 4th time I sent it they said it was too late that they could only do it within the first 4 months... I wanted to strangle them I also wanted to get the girls' pictures done... like that's very expensive, but we don't have the money for that... gggrrrrrrrr oh and we need to transfer the tags on the car that we bought in DECEMBER and also pay the property tax and sales tax on it and if I'm not careful he's going to spend all the money before we get a chance... though supposedly he did go into work last night, I'm wondering if he really did or not

I am just about done doing my parents taxes for the first time this year. I just have to tie up a few loose ends and then they are done. I tried to get them to let me do them for years, and they were stuck in a rut going to this one guy. Finally they're letting me do them, and I'm getting them back almost twice what the dufus got for them. I'm convinced that the so-called professional tax preparers just don't care enough to try to find everything for you. Some might, but I don't know of any. OMG...I would have to strangle him, Lindsey. I mean REALLY...does he have to have EVERYTHING about HIM? ? There's more I could say but this is a clean board. Oh, and Kris..I've been meaning to comment on your post about your Mom coming to visit. I'm so glad she is going to do that. That should help pass the time some, plus I bet you'll be really glad to see her.

Awww Ashley....that's awful!!! You barely had time in between illnesses. Hope you feel better soon.
btw:
[glow=black,5,300]I HATE SNOW!!!!![/glow]
We're in a #2 snow emergency. No one is allowed to go anywhere except work or you get arrested. Already today I had to reschedule two appointments, and Art had to take my truck to work instead of his because mine has 4 wheel drive. He called when he got there tonight, and he said there are 6 ft. drifts in the parking lot, and on Nucor Road there were three foot drifts across the road. (my poor truck) Tomorrow we were supposed to take Mom and Dad and go up to Mulberry to Mitch and Kari's for a Valentine luncheon...well GUESS NOT!!!! They can't even get out their front door because of the drifts. We haven't had much snow this year but boy, we sure have it now!!!!!! grrrrrrr
I'm gonna go get me a big bowl of ice cream and watch DIRT.

Wow Bunny. I have never thought about snow being so hazarderous. I guess it's because I've been somewhere where we have no chance at all of snow for a little over 3 years.
Lindsey: My mom gets to stay at least a week, maybe more. And what's great is that she is able to come at a time when I am on a break from school so I will actually get to relax and have fun while she is here.

That will be so nice for you, Kris! The timing is perfect, and I hope you will have a wonderful visit.
Snow can be really dangerous. Bad thing is there was also ice underneath, so it was more hazardous than usual. At least the sun is out today though, and the snow has stopped and the wind isn't blowing it all over the place anymore.
